Served from bottle into a Chimay goblet. Poured a nice golden color with tan sediment. A nice three-finger white head was formed but slowly subsided to a one-finger. The lacing was excellent throughout. The aroma was comprised of mainly fruit and alcohol. The flavors found were fruit, malt, and alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a very nice and smooth brew. If it had other flavors on top of the ones already present it could be great. It was very enjoyable, however it was not overly drinkable in large quantities.

Bottle. A - Hazy apricot/ honey golden orange color. Fairly large, foamy, pillowy, pearly white head. Decent retention with a thin layer of lace with it being a bit thicker and sticky on the edge. S - Good amount of peach and apricot along with some golden fruit and citrus. A lot of vanilla and some candi sugar. Touches of pale malt and some spices along with a touch of alcohol. T - Some citrus and apple taste comes out first. A fair amount of pale malt with some spiced flavors. Mid sip the yeast and spices come out a bit more and some grassy hops. A touch of bitterness along with some sweetness with a candi sugar type of taste. Some alcohol comes out as well. M - Medium body with a good amount of carbonation. Somewhat smooth with a drying finish. D - Pretty drinkable beer that is has a diversity of flavors. A little more spiced and less sweet, and the ABV limits how much you can drink. However, I would gladly drink this again, and could see myself drinking more than one in a night (sipping them of course). Notes: Best before 30/09/11. Not as much typical Tripel flavor as I was expecting. This is a bit less sweet and fruity (particularly lacking a stronger peach/apricot taste). A bit more like a BSPA. It is tasty nonetheless though. Solid beer that is an enjoyable drink.

So here’s the Westmalle Tripel! Its appearance is apricot-golden, with moderate head. The aroma is slightly similar to a wheat beer, and somewhat citrusy as well. When I take a sip, the hops jump right out; they’re strongly pronounced, but not too bitter! This is indeed a dry beer as well. Overall, it wasn’t what I was expecting, but I like it anyway, and I can tell it’s a well-crafted beer.

Bright hazy golden body. Even creamy off-white head. Strong yeasty aroma. Somewhat farmy. Fluffy carbonated feel in the mouth. Mostly sweet flavor, slightly bitter aftertaste. A little boozy. Not bad by any means, though I was honestly expecting better.

Appearance was a nice semi-frothy head and amber color. Has a spicy and dry mouthfeel.
