Pale orange that appears hazy with a large head. Spicy aroma, very yeasty. The flavour is a nice balance between sweet and spicy malts and alcohol. Nice hop bitterness to the finish.

93 cents at a supermarket in Amsterdam, what a deal! Really nice Belgain tripel with well hidden high alcohol content and light, fluffy mouthfeel. Refreshing and smooth.

Pours a gorgeous and very cloudy orange. This is not exceptionally carbonated and I needed to pour it straight into the glass from some height to achieve a decent, billowing head. This head left some nice Belgian lace, however for the most part disappeared within a minute. Has a pleasing sweet aroma, which I sense includes the smell of caramel and peaches. Taste is, as noted above, not very carbonated, but has a long finish. Slightly bitter and alcoholic. Overall, comparable to Orval, but I prefer that to this. Definitely good, though.

Bottle conditioned, aged 7yrs plus. Clear gold, white head but with big lumps of yeast. Another beer I have tried to age deliberately to try and calm down the spice, it hasen’t really worked with this though, the alcohol has developed but the spice remains, quite harsh really. Bitter and full, but lacking the subtleties of some Tripels. Not quite the great beer that it could be.

Golden, a bit hazy and with a large head. Aroma slightly fruity and spicy. Has a full body, slightly sweet. The alcohol can be felt in the throat and the after taste is long with some bitterness. The alcohol is though, to over whelming in my opinion.

Carbonation that reminds me of unibroue with slight notes of champagne (perhaps due to the rich carbonation and dry finish). Not too much to brag about in terms of aroma or pour - but so is the case for the majority of trips. Taste and Palate are exceptional.

What is it, the queen, king or the emperor of the tripels. I dont know, But it is one of the best tripels and maybe the standard of them. It’s a golden beer. A little hazy with a thick foamed white head. Very nice aromas of malt, yeast, flowers and nice fruits like orange. The taste has also fruits like orange and some citrus, with in the back a malty taste and a nice bitternes. It’s a great beer and always a feast to drink it.
