3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dagimp (416) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2010
From a 11.2 fl oz bottle into a water glass. Pours with a ton of fizzy head. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is of pepper lemon and a little yeast. Mouthfeel is way too fizzy up front, but after it sits a while, it gets much better (just like the dubbel). Taste is a little alcohol up front, pepper, lemon and some bitter hops. This trippel has a very distinct and biting taste. It’s also a lot lighter and easier to drink than most other trippels. Very good, I’d drink again!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 sunnyridge (222) - USA - APR 8, 2010
This tripel has it all and is a favorite of the trappist tripels. The nose has a slight a honey sweetness, a big dried floral bouquet, not more than a whisper of alcohol, and some notes of dried citrus. The taste is balanced with light malt a delicate hop and the delicious Belgian yeast. The palate has that Belgian champagney feel. This was my real intro to the trappist ales and very happy it was.

330ml bottle from the LCBO. Hazy orange pour with a thick frothy head. Dry, dusty aroma. Good body, and some dryness from the hops. Very nice beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 stfrancis (56) - Heffingen, LUXEMBOURG - APR 3, 2010
Hazy gold. smells sweet and spicy. Taste: complex, sweet to dry hoppy, with hops taking the upper hand. Warmth form the alcohol in the finish. Rich palate that sparkles in the mouth. A winter warmer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 KajII (344) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAR 30, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 Bottle. Poured a medium murky yellow almost gold in color with a huge (3 to 4 fingers) white frothy head that was fully lasting and had excellent lacing.
The aroma was of light grain malts, a piney hop and a mild soapy yeast with notes of dried fruit, banana, clove and a mild dose of alcohol.
It tasted a bitter-sour with hints of banana and clove throughout then had a mild fruity flavor with a slight pepper note and a rather heavy alcohol tinge at the end. The flavor stayed with you for nice long time allowing one to enjoy this brew well after the swallow.
Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and had a dry texture with a mild to medium carbonation.
Overall this Tripel was kind of fruity with a nice spice note and had a good kick to it at the end. Very Tasty!!!

Tried on our recent day trip to Ostend. Lovely golden appearance-crystal clear. Powerful slightly bitter flavour with a lot of body but still very drinkable.Slightly spicy and very easy to sup. It came in the proper glass and was served chilled but not ice cold. I would never think about drinking a beer of this strength in the daytime but I was on holiday!
My wife Glenys said its just a beer which is like saying a Ferrari is just a car. Marvelous.

really nice tripel, nice tight bubbles like champagne, great color and aroma. very vinegary in the aftertaste which is actually nice compared to the sweetness in the front of the mouth. very well balanced. next to chimay cinq cents, one of the better tripels ive had so far.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 flatmatt (737) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2010
330 mL bottle. Pours hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma features biscuit, cloves, and bubble gum along with some vague citrus hints and a slight candy sweetness. There’s a spicy tingle right up front giving way to cloves and pale malts, a mix of apples and citrus, and some floral flavors. Pleasant hoppy finish. Lots of subtleties that all tie in perfectly.
