stravale (387) - Inverness, SCOTLAND - DEC 13, 2011
Bottle from Beers of Europe
Yellow, hazy, frothy white head with good lacing.
Aroma - Spicy, yeast, bit tart, hint of citrus, aroma is quite subtle, no alcohol.
Taste - Yeasty, bitter, underlying sweet malts, fruity, hint of honey, spices, hint of vanilla, alcohol very noticeable.
Palate Bitter, yeasty, medium to high carb allows flavours to move around, medium body, powdery texture, underlying creaminess. Finish - smooth, increased bitterness, powdery, dry, spicy, bit of cake mix, slight sherbet, cleans well. Complex.
Overall - A complex, well-made tripel with a surprising subdued aroma. Each sip reveals something else. The palate is superb. Alcohol is too noticeable though.

Golden orange cloudy pour with nice cloudy head after settling. Strong yeasty, doughy, and spicy aroma and taste. Lightly carbonated , well balanced with bitterness and alcohol accounting for most of the taste and follow through.

Pours a hazy peach-orange color with an awesome head. Massive lacing throughout. Aroma was spices and somewhat yeasty. Taste is spices, some floral, a little grassy, and alcohol comes through at the end. Dry finish. Great carbonation.

poured from bottle into a chalice. Pours a solid orange color that is slightly hazy with a good head. Perfect color for a trappist the aromas aren’t jumping, but very well blended. On the subtle side with aromas of orange peels, some florals, a slight touch of funk and all sorts of various citrus aromas as well The feel is extremely well weighted and round. The flavors of citrus’, orange peels, hints of earth, and white florals are deep and polished This is a standard bearer, and for great reason. This is just a class beer that you want to drink and savor at the same time.

The aroma is yeasty and spicy, distant tropical fruits, faint alcohol. The body is medium, spritzy carbonation. Bready and spicy yeast, with a dry, hoppy, and lean finish. The finish is bold and long, with mint and anise notes coming through. Very nice trappist tripel.

olor suave a malta y frutas,al paladar bien carbonatada con aromas bien balanceados de malta lupulo y frutas, me dio sabores mezclados de banana, albaricoque y algo mas. En fin una buenisima cerveza recomendada!

Pretty solid beer. Hazy golden/slight amber coloring with a frothy, short-lived, white head. Aromas are of caramel, toffee, and dough. Taste is of biscuit, sweet caramel, a bit dry, and containing some mixed spices. I also got hints of some tropical fruit. Semi-sweet, dry finish. Pretty tasty.

33 cl. bottle. Slightly hazy, golden colour in my trappist glass. Big, white head that quickly fades to a thin, staying cap. Exceptional malty and yeasty aroma with lots of spicy and fruity, exotic notes. The alcohol also shows as a pleasant burn on the palate. Lively carbonated, with a full body and a great, long lasting finish with tons of complex Belgian yeasts and malts and notes of licorice and hops. I really enjoyed this classic beer! Just as good as the dubbel.
