Btankey (11), USA Feb 21, 2008 Has a lot going for it, nice multi-tiered complexity that draws in the floral and bitter well, though lacks a certain deliciousness that loses my interest quickly. Also, moments of the finish suggest watery elements barely masked by the bitter. Nice masked acidity and subdued caramel, however. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Feb 20, 2008 Gloden and cloudy in appearance with a good head. Sweet fruity very belgian aromas. Sweet taste with noticiable alcohol. Medium body with some dryness.
smith4498 (825), Miami, Florida, USA Feb 18, 2008 Poured a hazy dark golden color with a white head. Aromas of fruity yeast. Flavor starts sweet and finishes dry with yeast and hops. Medium body with lively carbonation and a kind of prickly mouthfeel due to the carbonation. A very tasty tripel. Proteus (98), Finland Feb 18, 2008 Bottle. A hazy yellow beer with a small white head. Dry hoppy aroma with hints of spices. A good balance between hops and malts in the flavor, a bit more dry and "easier" than the Westmalle Dubbel. Yeasty character through the whole experience. Bitter palate. Sephiroth (66), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Feb 17, 2008 I am quite familiar with this lovely ale. It is a deep yellow with a creamy looking head. The nose is of pears, apples, and alcohol.
The taste is of earthy, bright fruity malt. The hops are enough to make this a clean finishing beer. The sweetness is not cloying. The mouthfeel is one of the best I have ever encountered. It is ultra creamy and medium bodied. I have somehow put this beer down in about thirty minutes. It took no effort. I most definitely want another one.
bchlala (42), Denmark Feb 16, 2008 I tasted this beer before I got my account with ratebeer, so I can’t really remember all the flavors. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Feb 15, 2008 33 cl bottle, mild yeast and malt nose, lots of carbonation, nice flavor, some lemon on the finish, trying the dubbel next mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2008 The most carbonated of all trapists I have tried, Westmalle Tripel is a good blonde ale. With a nice appearance and a very large head, this beer feels like a champagne when being drunk.
