750 ml. bottle- Pours golden with a good white head, roma is of yeast and citrus. The flavor is totally Belgian, but with a stronger alcohol presence. Usually Belgium is the master at hiding alcohol in its big brews, but this is an exception. Whats great is that I went from a shit beer (Redbridge rated 0.7) to this.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 weihenweizen (633) - West Virginia, USA - DEC 11, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2010 Refrigerated bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours a golden color with nice tall head that stays around better than some triples. This one is mostly fruit malt, but also has some nice hop spice. This beer is fairly translucent, but has some particles that float around the bottom edges of the glass and has descent lacing. Good beer, but has some harshness.

Westamalle tripel is the clasic typical tripel. Well balanced between malts and hop, fruits and spicies, aroma and taste.

(Snifter glass) Pours a golden orange liquid. Has a heavy head which leads to a good amount of lacing. Taste is malty but balanced with a light peach maltiness. Also has a yeast quality to it. The mouthfeel has lively carbonation. The finish is astringent and lightly bitter.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Bloekie (191) - BELGIUM - DEC 7, 2009
Clear golden tripel with a nice foamy long-lasting head. Aroma is very spicy and sweet. Taste is very very nice of the malts and the hops, with a little bitterness to top it off. Palate is just awesomely refined. Overall one hell of a holy beer!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Vaiz (1847) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 7, 2009
Pours a hazy blonde yellow with a thick, foamy head. Intense spicy aroma of citrus rasp, coriander and even some mint. Flavor is complex, sharp and full and has a bitter hoppyness on top of a spicy body. Although it is a remarkable beer and definitely good, it is a bit too sharp and spicy for my personal taste. Good palate feel, with lots of carbonated creamy roundness that makes this gulp down easily. Very nice dry bitter finish.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is "belgian" with some citrus and malt notes. Really crisp body with some nice fruity spicy hints. Very good Belgian.

Westmalle’s triple is an OK Belgian triple with an aroma that to smells of bailed hey. The appearance is certainly consistent with the style but i did find the taste to be a little lacking. As for the yeast... absolutely barnyard. I was not going to say it, but when i saw it as a suggestion under the yeast heading here on rate beer i thought wow, that is very accurate.
