badinplaid (103), USA Nov 28, 2007 Really good tripel. Citrusy undertones. Pours rich orange with a fluffy white head. One of my favorite trappist tripels. dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 23, 2007 Hazy orange with a pillowy white head. Aroma is mostly citrus, spice and yeast that follows into the body which reminds me of a beaujolais nouveau-like bubblegum notion... I wonder if they are similar strains. Anyhow, banana and more spice (coriander, clove) in the body with a bit of orange zest and a dryer finish. Alcohol is a bit noticeable but not enough to turn me off. Quite tasty. kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 22, 2007 12ozbottle, marked 27/10/07. Poured orange-golden, with a huge fluffy white head. Big yeasty aroma, with spice, coriander, pepper, and flowers. Wheaty, yeasty flavor, with some spice, tropical fruit, and alcohol. Long, fruity finish. Nice tripel. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Nov 22, 2007 (330 ml bottle (stamped "18/05/08") from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/downeast-beverage-co/974.htm target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co., cellared for 8 mos. after purchase) A boozy treat...Pours cloudy apricot orange color. Quite perfect looking finger or two of white head that looks like a cloud. Aroma of stewed fruit, candyish malt sweetness and a light hint of cherry. Mouthfeel is finely prickly, smooth and fairly dry. Nice sheets of lacing form inside of glass. Flavor is light stewed fruit and candyish, light brown sugar malt with an overlaying boozy sweetness, so yes it’s kind of hot but not in a detracting way. A fine beer. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Nov 21, 2007 Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a not so big white head. Taste has Orange, citrus, spice and a lot of hops. A good triple StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 21, 2007 33cl bottle - pours hazy golden orange with a big foamy white head. Also, in the most beautiful of trappist glasses. Aroma of yeast, peppery spice, effervescent citrus, banana, candy sugar. Flavour is very similar, very tangy, with the alcohol warming at the back of the throat in the swallow. Quite bready and sweet, with a dry finish. Fresh and hugely drinkable...probably my favourite Trappist tripel. FatguyRacer (129), Crownsville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 11.2 oz bottle. Not very aromatic. Color is hazy translucent light amber with a brillaint white head. Taste very heavy of hops, a bit peppery. Nice dry finish. A very nice brew. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Nov 17, 2007 Bottle split with Muenster and BossHossBikes in a blind tasting. This was the cloudiest sample and a light golden color with an excellent white head. The nose is very bready with light cloves and a wild character. The flavor is bready again with hints of rye and a backdrop of spices, earth, delicate cloves and cardamom. The sweetness is appropriately dessert like. This was excellent, my second favorite in the blind behind only Allagash Tripel.
