canary dog (441), Rutland, Vermont, USA Nov 9, 2007 The substantial alcohol is hidden, in my opinion. Tastes more like a 7, maybe 8 percenter at the most. Golden, dry, and full, with fruits and spice battling in the finish. An enjoyable experience. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Nov 8, 2007 Updated: Nov 9, 2007Pours a hazy orange brown color with a foamy, pale yellow head that sticks around quite a while, and leaves substantial lacing on the glass. Nose is spicy and citrus, with a hint of dried fruit. Flavor is also spicy, but a sweet raisin flavor is present. A subtle bitterness finishes the taste. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA Nov 7, 2007 Bottled 33cl. A hazy orange beer with a tall qhite head. Aroma has notes of yeast and orange. Taste is very spicy and fruity, notes of yeast. Alcoholic and bitter end bierman2000 (4), 4800+ Miles from Munich, near UBW, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Nov 6, 2007 Does a Tripel get any better, if so it would be hard to find, enjoyed in Brugge Belgium bottled and potent. Very smooth and dangerous as the alcohol comes thru in the end of the bottle. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Nov 6, 2007 750 ml bottle. A blonde/orange beer with a big white head that leaves many laces disappearing. The aroma has many herbal notes and is also spicy and fruity. the alcohol is detectable. the flavour has much sweetness with fruity (light orange), spicy (pepper) and yeasty notes. Long finish with alcohol hints and hops that are very present and give a nice bitterness, that is higher than in many Belgian products. Full body and lively carbonation. The alcohol is maybe too evident but this is ceratinly a nice beer. brstp (201), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Nov 2, 2007 Bottle from City Beer Store. Hazy neon yellow color, can’t see any carbonation. Great, thick head with big bubbles and solid lacing. Huge yeast aroma with flowers, plums. Fruity taste with strawberries, floral, bracing bitter grassy finish with some alcohol. Quite nice! WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 2, 2007 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear and carbonated straw-colored amber with a firm, billowy head. Aroma is earthy and sweet like a saison, with earthy tones of yeast and malt alongside other aromas of spice, banana, and citrusy hops. Taste is full and sweet, with an initial taste of floral hops opening up into a sweeter profile of honey and banana, finishing with a crisp and bitter finish that’s part hops, part alcohol. Not at all what I’d expect from a tripel, but still a solid brew. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2007 330ml bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a hint of soft brown. Good size white head that dissipates not too fast but not too slow. Mild lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and subdued flowery hops and light malts. First sip is lightly fruity with the hops coming through more strongly. The finish is a combination of fruit, hops and malt, with an overtone of alchohol. The feeling is almsot silky, but a bit more on the watery side, with a slight tingle of carbonation. This is a great trappist.
