3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
It pours gorgeous ochre with a slight reddish tint; the head is off-white and thick, like whipped egg-whites. The aroma has notes of: almonds, blood-orange jam, Belgian Candi-sugar, alcohol, barnyard-funk, coriander, and rye-bread. The taste is medium tart and finishes medium bitter and dry; there are notes of: coriander, sour-dough bread, blood-oranges, alcohol, lemon-pith, and Belgian Candi-sugar. The palate is full-bodied, medium carbonations, big mouth-feel (foamy), with a medium finish. Overall it was a phenomenal Tripel. This beer shows that a Tripel is not just a watered down Quadrupel .

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The ’mother of tripels’, the archetype of this genre, easily available in even the most depressing of night shops or train station bars, in my view one of the most classical of Belgian ales. Off-white, sticky, stable lacing, colour deep golden blonde, misty after adding the ’fond’. Malty, yeasty and fruity, warming aroma of grapefruit, apple cake, old cheese, gin, mango, banana, unripe pear, cloves, dried lemon peel, sour cream, white pepper; taste begins fruity in a dryish way, clear presence of curaçao, quite vivid carbonisation resulting in a dry effect, malty (honeyish, pilsener, caramel), supple and rich, aftertaste peppery hops with a lingering bitter as well as ’jenever’-like, warming alcohol, not disturbing. I do prefer the 75 cl version, however, which is noticeably softer and more elegant.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A mid golden yellow coloured beer with a front white head. A light fruity aroma, tropical fruit, lychee, mango, plus a hint of dusty malt. Medium-dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a tart, tropical fruit flavour, with some sour yeasty flavours coming through. Then a sweeter, slightly cloying malt taste appears giving the all-round taste of boiled sweets! The finish is fruity.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy straw colour with a beautiful 3 finger white head. Aromas of belgian yeast, honey, spiced bread and tropical fruit. Taste includes lemon, malts, honey, spices. The fantastic yeast is very prominent straight up with the dry hops and peppery finish taking over the back end. A little booziness. Fairly full bodied. Excellent tripel.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Orange hazy color with huge head. Aroma of fruits and yeast. Taste is complex with different notes. Full-bodied with the alcohol in the main role. Then goes bitter aftertaste. Not the fan of strong beer, but this one is definitely worth trying.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Botella 330 ml)
