4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330 ml. bottle poured in a Westmalle chalice glass. Good nice head with a lace that seems to last forever. Smell of frutis, lemon grass , alcohol, sherry wine. Spicy. Good carbonation, thick and creamy palate. Taste of fruits, maybe apricots, hints of tropical fruits, some citrus, almonds, spicy. Long dry finish. I understand why this is considered the classic example of a belgian tripel. Excellent.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bitter and dry. Spicy and rubbery flavours. Fresh bottle (2 months from botting time) has a clear hop character; older bottles lose this. A grainy maltiness in fresh bottles develops into a mellow chocolate flavour in older ones. Good beer.

Fruity esters. Slight haze. Honey gold. Dry & crisp. Rather easy drinking for a belgian tripel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Aeon Liquors. A contrast to yesterday’s Avec Les Bons Voeux, here’s Westmalle’s Tripel.
It also clocks in at 9.5% but pours a lighter honey gold with a thick foamy head of fizzy white.
The aroma is bready, orange with a musty cinnamon-like quality. Full bodied but sharply carbonated with a dry-ish finish.
This is much boozier than the Du Pont, it is rougher but that could be due to being a younger bottle. The taste is spicy, a bit of plum and nutty. Nice but not as satisfying as Avec Les Bons Voeux. I do enjoy the spicy/fruity finish though.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.

Light aroma, fruity but hard to distinguish. Pours hazy amber with a nice creamy head. Quite a bitter taste that lingers long.

Smells like sweet over-ripe plums and spices. Fruity on the tongue - more dark fruits like plum and a hint of sour apples - with a smooth and creamy texture. The rich yeasty malts and the alcohol kick in on the aftertaste.
