Westmalle Tripel

The pour is a clouded, hay-colored gold with long, snakey yeasty globs slithering about the glass. Giant head so typical of a tripel. Aromas of pineapple, lovely Belgian yeasties, band-aid, canned fruit salad. Thick, sticky brew. Acidic dryness to finish after ample yummy, juicy-fruit sweetness coats the mouth. Wonderful example of the style, the extra aging is evident. Maybe a bit on the syrupy side

Bottle (330ml). Poured muddy orange honey with a large, thick, fluffy, off-white head which lasted amazingly. A complex aroma with a sourdough, fennel, banana/clove notes, orange zest, pears, ginger and white pepper. Strong herby/spicy notes in the flavor with sour yeasty malts, cloves, coriander, lemon zest, dry pears, hints of aniseed and a warming/peppery finish. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation a dry/spicy mouthfeel, syrupy texture and a great finish.

Pours a hazy gold - the color of an unfiltered cider. Huge head. Aroma is much more pungeant than I expected - the wonderfully refreshing spicy citrus that trademarks a good triple are complemented by yeast and bread. Flavor is right on the nose (pardon the pun) - spicy fruit, especially citrus and apple, with the Belgian yeast adding a full body and a bready taste. The beer is thick, but the carbonation is lively enough to clear it from your palate. Flavor is mild, but not dilute - it isn’t missing anything. A wonderful example of a style I don’t often seek out.

bottle 33cl, golden yellow, firm head, clear, strong bitter with fruit aroma, strong hoptaste with long aftertaste, also Deliciously Dangerous! :-) i used to drink it regularly, 4 or 5 a night, i don’t do that anymore.. ;-)

11.2 oz bottle which poured a cloudy blond.The nose was on the mild side, some fruit and yeast were evident. Nicely carbonated beer, with a mild flavor and a long dry somewhat peppery finish
