Light brown color, big yellow lasting head. Cloudy appearance. Peppery, fruity, mild citrus and medium alcohol in aroma. Full bodied. Flavor starts with strong citrus and fruits, ends with spicy and dry aftertaste with notes of anis. Alcohol comes up too much, drops the score little bit.

Perfect golden color, with beautiful thick creamy lasting head. High carbonation. Aroma of spices, grain. Good spicy, grainy taste, with some orange and citrus, soft but a bit alcoholic. Only slightly alcoholic bit dry palate. Like the Karmeliet Tripel, this is a more grainy tripel, very good though.

Bottle, and wow. Nice cloudy gold color with a good white colored head. Aroma is malty and fruity and yeasty for sure. Flavor is just beautiful. Some sweetness, spice and more yeast on the palate. Wow.

Bottle. A sweet apple and spicy aroma. A light yellow color with small head. A sweet apple and pepper flavor with strong alcohol finish. Very nice flavor with a well hidden alcohol content.

33cl bottle, superbest. good aroma, looks nice with sizable white head, strong solid taste. some soapy undertones (or not - i’ve been cleaning my old apartment for hours, perhaps it’s me who smells like soap), average to good palate, Overall a nice beer, but i sort of miss something to get really excited about. After it had heated up a bit it got markedly better, so i adusted palate and overall. 8-14 celc. is indeed the range.

Cloudy gold with big lasting head. Quiet subdued aroma, light fruit juice and yeast. First taste sends alcohol fumes to cleanse the sinus. Heavy spice, pepper and cloves are very sharp on the tongue and in the finish. Some sweetness and light grape quality. They may not be monks but the brothers at Unibroue do a better take on Belgian beers.

In the bottle. A delightfully large frothy long-lasting head, but not of high-end Belgian gargantuan proportions. Beer is a cloudy yellow color. First aroma is of yeasty bread dough, followed by a perfume. Slight citrus aroma at mid point. A medium palate with a strong alcohol burn. Average carbonation level and a good bitter aftertaste. Much better than the dubbel. Cheers!

Hazy straw gold with a fluffy white rocky head that soon subsides and good condition. Initial peppery hop note is soon hidden by the perfumy esters and alcohol. More esters and fruitiness in the mouth along with a bready malt character. Finish is acoholic and sweet with a dry bitterness in the background. Overrated IMHO.
