railcat1 (491), Kissimmee, Florida, USA Dec 23, 2006 I HAD HEARD ALOT ABOUT THIS AND WAS NEVER A BIG BELGIUM FAN SO THIS TO ME WAS JUST A REGULAR BEER THAT WAS HIGH IN ALCOHOL AND CITRUS FLAVOR.
greenhorn1 (381), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 7, 2008 750 ml bottle. Aroma is spicy, hints of banana, and yeasty. Pours gold with lively carbonation, small head. Flavor is similiar and sweet. Strong notes of pepper. Alcohol gets stronger with each sip. Medium mouthfeel, long finish. Decent. swooper (94), Kladno, Czech Republic Oct 5, 2008 banana, bread, citrus aroma, golden, hazy, frothy, rocky head, medium bitterness, medium sweetness, full body, thick feel, fizzy, long finish, bitter, Ljunkan (140), Karlstad, Sweden Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden/orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is yeasty, very spicy with notes of orange. Flavour is sweet with lots of spices, fruit, citrus, green apples and orange with a slight bitterness at the end. Palate is quite filling with medium carbonation. It’s not that drinkable though, but still a quite nice sipper. Tripels is not one of my favourite styles and I think Chimay White is the best one still. It gets a bit too sweet and alcoholic after a while. JonnyDr (107), , South Yorkshire, England Sep 28, 2008 Gorgeous deep amber colour. Slightly overstrong start with honey, caramel and spiced notes. Sweet alcoholic finish. Too strong. mjs (576), Helsinki, Finland Sep 28, 2008 (Bottle, 0.75 l bottled 240408, at Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki, on 2008-09-27) Orange. Cloudy. Medium sized quickly disappearing white head. Citric aromas, yeast and some tiny hints of banana in very fruity nose. Medium bodied palate with quite lot of carbonation. Fruitiness, bitterness, grapefruit, malts and some salty liquorice. Long lasting fruity aftertaste.
