COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong, dry and spicy trappist ale. The product of a secondary fermentation lasting 5 weeks. This is a complex ale with a fruity aroma and a nice nuanced hop scent. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with a bitter touch carried by the fruity aroma. An exceptional ale, with a great deal of finesse and elegance, and with a splendid long after taste.

Nice aroma with notes of citrus, hay and yeast. Color is like honey. Taste is warm with notes of rasins and grass. Very nice, one of my favourites.

750ml bottle, bottled November 2011, aged into wine cellar at 12-14 degrees celcius, poured into Westmalle chalice! Pours a nice golden with minimal head. Aromas are of cookie dough, bananas, honey/litchi, and a bit of alcohol to some degree. Taste is rather sweet (medium). Body is medium-full, with a slick/creamy texture, and carbo is pretty low. Aftertaste just a tad bitter. Overall, this 2011 Tripel is outstanding. I’m totally amazed; I had one (330 bottle though) that was young, and it was a whole other animal. Most likely the best tripel I’ve ever had. Let it warm up a bit and enjoy.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy yellow with a lasting white top. Although it is available everywhere this beer is sheer quality. Lovely taste and bitterness and brilliant beer to drink when you’re thirsty. Aroma is somewhat flat. One of my favourites.

Great golden color with bubbly foamy head. The aroma is fresh and citric, with a Classic Belgian baseline. The taste is light and fresh, almost impossible to detect the high alcohol level. A great beer overall, must be one of my favorite Belgians!

Pours cloudy gold with a medium white head. Aroma is yeast, earthy, floral, dough and banana. Taste is sweet with light bitters. Medium bodied, exceptionally smooth with alcohol well hidden.

Pours a hazed yellow color with an enormous white head. Aromas of dry banana peel, lemongrass and basically the whole spice cabinet. Taste is spicy and very dry. Flavors - I’m getting a bit of dingy malt in there, perhaps some wet cardboard, along with all the aromas I described. A touch of alcohol as well. Very ester heavy. Finishes crackling dry with sharp carbonation and an alcoholic kick. Pretty good.

The ’mother of tripels’, the archetype of this genre, easily available in even the most depressing of night shops or train station bars, in my view one of the most classical of Belgian ales. Off-white, sticky, stable lacing, colour deep golden blonde, misty after adding the ’fond’. Malty, yeasty and fruity, warming aroma of grapefruit, apple cake, old cheese, gin, mango, banana, unripe pear, cloves, dried lemon peel, sour cream, white pepper; taste begins fruity in a dryish way, clear presence of curaçao, quite vivid carbonisation resulting in a dry effect, malty (honeyish, pilsener, caramel), supple and rich, aftertaste peppery hops with a lingering bitter as well as ’jenever’-like, warming alcohol, not disturbing. I do prefer the 75 cl version, however, which is noticeably softer and more elegant.

A mid golden yellow coloured beer with a front white head. A light fruity aroma, tropical fruit, lychee, mango, plus a hint of dusty malt. Medium-dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a tart, tropical fruit flavour, with some sour yeasty flavours coming through. Then a sweeter, slightly cloying malt taste appears giving the all-round taste of boiled sweets! The finish is fruity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2014 Hazy pale straw colour. Fantastic dense and persistent white head. Aroma of banana, lime and spices. Similar taste. Long aftertaste with some pepper. Very complex.

Bottle. Hazy yellow/golden pour with lots of sedimentation and small white head. Aroma has sweet malt and yeast. Taste is sweet and very balanced. Lots of tasty notes but to sweet for my taste.
