4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours slightly hazy golden with a massive fluffy head that has superb retention. Smell of sweet caramel and malts, yeasty banana, spices, citrus and honey. Taste starts sweet and earthy, bitter builds up into an extremely long aftertaste. In the meantime, the fruits, citrus, spices and yeast make an appearance. Strong carbonation. Aftertaste is dry, bitter and long. Well balanced. Brilliant trappist beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy golden color with a frim foamy head. High Carbonation. Yeast and alcohol in the aroma. Citrus fruityness in the taste that turns into the slightly bitter and dry aftertaste. The alcohol i there but you wouldn’t say its a 9,5% beer. A triple like a triple should be.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer that original of this style of beer. So it’s a classic taste or rather taste of basic indeed. However, it has become a good finish, and too much to drink carelessly. Because it is a taste of strictness rather, it might be nice to drink on a hot day.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is of belgian yeast and clove. A bit of alcohol can be picked up. Taste is a fruity one with a bitter/warm alcohol finish. The taste is pleasant but not very complex. The bitterness and alcohol tastes linger beyond end.Body is lightly clouded and gold. Pearl head retains very well.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer is a little strong but easy to drink, Fruity and nutty flavor with a slight bitterness. It has a sort of creaminess to it but with a nice punch of a real beer. Not a real fan of triples, but this one is a good choice if you’re looking for one.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a cloudy yellow color with a fruity aroma to it. Taste is dry with a light spicy flavor. A tinge of lemon zest that masks the alcohol flavor. A creamy mouth feel that lasts through the swallow. A nice beer for the style...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz bottle into a tulip glass.
A: Pours a hazy golden amber color with lots of carbonation. The head - at one finger high, with a barely off-white shade - features excellent retention, a frothy texture, and great lacing.
S: Wow, this smells like a fantastic pilsner...except it’s an ale...and it’s 9.5%...and it’s a year old. Aside from the surprisingly sturdy level of noble hopping, it also has a wonderful black pepper tone. There isn’t much in the way of fruity esters, though - maybe there’s a wisp of white grape here and there. Like many trappist ales, it’s hard to really fathom why it works...and yet, it works so damn brilliantly.
T: It opens up with some notes of apple skin and white grape, while the finish is peppery and slightly hoppy. Occasionally a touch of cherry will appear. While I think the flavors are damn good, there’s a reason that’s all I wrote about the flavor profile...because it lacks some complexity. It’s not dead simple though - and it definitely improves while sitting in the glass - but you don’t get the typical twists and turns you do with, say, Rochefort 10.
M: The feel is heavy yet fizzy. And like a good tripel, there’s nothing to suggest it’s 9.5%. Given the fact that it’s dry as shit and very well attenuated, this goes down with ridiculous ease.
O: I kind of wanted more depth, but as a means of creating an easy drinker without much palpable booze, it’s a roaring success. I think the fact that I’m not a huge tripel fan has something to do with me not giving this some score well over 4+ (like I’m wont to do with anything made by monks in Belgium). I’d also love to compare it side-by-side with La Fin Du Monde.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First try of this "mother of all tripels", recipe unchanged since the 1950s, alledgedly. Light golden, plenty of carb, white fluffy head, a good bit of sediment from the secondary fermentation. Bubblegum and sweet biscuit aroma. Note the alcohol, but nothing like 9.5. Thicky and creamy in the middle, some warming. Smooth. Particularly as the carbonation subsides.
