| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 16, 2004 This pours out a murky light orange with plenty of floaties swimming around in the body. It has about 2 fingers high of white foam covering the top and leaves nice sheets of lace about the glass. The aroma is made up of yeast, spice and a slight sweetness. There is also a lemony zest coming from the aroma as well. The taste is spicy with a nice mild sweetness that gets balanced by a slight bitterness. The after taste is a bitter with a peppery bite to it. Mouthfeel is great with a very filling quality about it. This is also highly drinkable and goes down fairly easy for the style. Excellent all around beer that is one of my favorite triples. LomYst (17), Netherlands

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 20, 2005 Nice pour from a bottle with a rich lasting head that laces all the way down the glass. Sharp nose with bitter orange and some peppery yeast. Well balanced flavors with just enough sweet to balance the citrus. This is an excellent beer and even still refreshing for such a big ale. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 16, 2007 Updated: Nov 17, 2007Bottle. Pours hazy gold/amber with floaties and a fluffy beige head. Aroma is citrusy with a nice banana/clove dance and nice spices and yeast. the flavor is more aggressive than I expected. Lots of strong citrusy fruits, a sweet candied apple note, as well as the nice spices and yeast found in the aroma. The finish is warm from the alcohol, and just dry enough to make you want to take another sip immediately. Updated, in a blind tasting, this won over Allagash tripel, Tripel Karmeleit, and Chimay. Wonderful. mbeem (104), New Hope, Alabama, USA

Pours a cloudy golden in the glass with a flowering head. Fruity nose of yeast, bread, orange peel and other citrus accents. A smooth drinker. Creamy mouth-feel. Dry with a pleasant alcohol finish. A wonderful beer though I think I like the Dubbel a little more. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden

Complex aroma, citric & fruity with hints of rose pepper. Fruity & slightly alcoholic taste, but still a favourite! The beer provides a combination of ripe tree fruit along, particularly pear combined with a delicate light yeast derived peppery spice character.
