A strong, dry and spicy trappist ale. The product of a secondary fermentation lasting 5 weeks. This is a complex ale with a fruity aroma and a nice nuanced hop scent. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with a bitter touch carried by the fruity aroma. An exceptional ale, with a great deal of finesse and elegance, and with a splendid long after taste.

Bottle. Pours hazy straw blond with a thin head full of tiny bubbles. The aroma is discretely peppery and citrusy. The taste is spicy, bitter and dry. It is quite rustic and devoid of malty sweetness, uncompromising. It’s a cult beer perhaps, but not necessarily a tasty one. The Westmalle Tripel was tasted along with Chimay Blanche and La Trappe Tripel and it scored lowest in all categories, losing by far.

35 cl bottle. Cloudy yellow color with a big rocky solid white head, lots of lacing.
Quiet nose, hints of white wine. Aroma is white grapes, wine (spumante/champagne), apple, cider with spicy belgian yeast. Resins maybe, while yeast has a major role, other fruity esters as it warms uo. Taste is moderately bitter, crisp. Texture is dusty, sustained carbonation Finish is extra dry, spiced, fairly long, warming. High ABV gives a grappa-like aftertaste Not a fan of appleysh beers, this is a solid tripel.

Deilig, kompleks og sammensatt aroma av honning og banan. Herlig, kremete og fyldig munnfølelse med god sødme og friskhet. Lang, smaksrik ettersmak. Super til pinnekjøtt.

No the most profound of the Trappists but still a very enjoyable tripel. Lots of fruit in the nose, taste is well balanced with a long buttery finish. Good beer to drink once in a while.

11.2 oz. bottle from Party Time in Spearfish. Appearance: 2 fingers white head that lasts only as a film, straw gold to orange gold, cloudy. Aroma: fruity esters, light leather, Palate: medium body, average carbonation, light alcoholic warming, sort of thin alcoholic texture. Taste: sweet fruitiness, into a nicer, fuller malty sweetness, with some alcoholic notes towards the end. Overall, amazing tripel, love the balance, tastes are really nice, very good.
