bottle. pours a a clear honey-gold with a huge fluffy white head that doesn’t seem to want to quit. when it eventually subsides, halfway through the beer, it remains as a film over the whole beer, and leaves plenty of lacing. smells of raisins and berries mixed with nuts, with a slight woody note. very complex smell. tastes a bit more spicy and malty than it smells, with noticeable alcohol. finishes crisp with a hint of bitter. the fairly high carbonation and tiny bubbles gives it an almost creamy mouthfeel, with a sort of oily film.

Oct 7, 2008 750 ml bottle. Aroma is spicy, hints of banana, and yeasty. Pours gold with lively carbonation, small head. Flavor is similiar and sweet. Strong notes of pepper. Alcohol gets stronger with each sip. Medium mouthfeel, long finish. Decent.

Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden/orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is yeasty, very spicy with notes of orange. Flavour is sweet with lots of spices, fruit, citrus, green apples and orange with a slight bitterness at the end. Palate is quite filling with medium carbonation. It’s not that drinkable though, but still a quite nice sipper. Tripels is not one of my favourite styles and I think Chimay White is the best one still. It gets a bit too sweet and alcoholic after a while.

Citric aromas, yeast and some tiny hints of banana in very fruity nose. Medium bodied palate with quite lot of carbonation. Fruitiness, bitterness, grapefruit, malts and some salty liquorice. Long lasting fruity aftertaste.
