Dark orange, evaporating beige airy head. Nose: cherries, sour hint, wild yeast. good carbonation. taste: fruity, apple, flowers. finish is sweetish, subtile, but mainly sourish. very refreshing, whaaaw I am perplexed. what a surprise. I definitely thad this beer before, cant remember it tasted this way (sourish) and this good! (had the bottle in The Capital and did check maturity date which was still good)

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness drinks shop, York. Once I’d finally contained the beer to a glass, it was cloudy amber coloured, with lots of bits, and a massive, John Merrick sized head. Under that there is a cider lolly sweet and sourness. Some black cherry. Some spice. Taste is baked apple sweet, followed by the black cherry, tangy dryness. Loads going off. I need another...

330 bottle. Pours dark copper with a small head. Aroma is very light an subtle - apple juice, a bit of apple marmalade. Taste is fruity, quite lenient, flows in your mouth just as some honey with apple-juice taste. Aftertaste is lenient also, sort of warm, stretchy, sweet. Feels more like a trippel - a bit weird drink that tastes still great!

Bottle. Hazy deep amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of barnyard, bread, lemon peel, toffee, earth and fruity funk. Taste is dry and light bitter with notes of bread, lemon peel and earth. Low to medium bodied with high carbonation. Nice.

19.11.13 Bottled 330ml Saveur. BB 11/2017. Copper-amber color, good foamy white head - the bottle was gushing a bit. Berries in the nose, some bretta-like tartness, some caramel. Medium-bodied. Flavor has light bretta, caramel. Fruity, apricot-mango, passion fruit candy. Drinkable yes, Belgian yes, but not among the best Struises.

Nose is belgian yeast, bread, a little cereal, hey, grass. Taste is honey, leading to a caramel, butter, soft fruits, toffee (a tiny bit of smoke) light spice in the finish. Mouthfeel is amazing like all Struise. Very nice beer.

Another 33cl Belgian bottle that’s been hanging around in my stash so long I’ve forgotten where it came from: Lot 22/17/11, BBD Aug 2016. The label claims it was imported into the US via San Fransisco, so God knows how it ended up within my stash in good old Shropshire. Poured carefully into a La Chouffe tulip on 16th Nov 2013. Hazy dark amber/dirty old gold, on top a full but swiftly falling off-white head. Alcohol laden fruit aroma, with yeast and malts in the mix. The taste followed the same lines, fruity, alcoholic and malty with a yeast underbelly. Plums, raisins and toffee apple type flavours vie with the yeastiness and alcohol to assert themselves. Plenty going on in the mouth, interesting and engaging, difficult to pigeon hole the true flavours, but I’d have another, and another, and another just to try and find some sort of ending to my tasting dilemma.
