Golden body, white head. Nicely balanced as so many other struises. Very malty and caramelly. Some mellow citrussy hop aromas. Too sweet for me.

Bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a large white head. A sweet fruity and peppery nose, some lemon zest. The flavor is interesting: dominated by spicy and sweet Belgian ale flavors, some light bitter hops and zesty citrus (mostly lemon). It works but isn’t quite as good as a IPA or Belgian Ale alone would be.

Draught at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Cloudy pale amber minimal head. Orange peels, cork and chalk. Mid dry, fruity and hoppy with medium-full body. Soapy, chalky bitter orange peels. Marked bitter finish.

Oddly an aroma of coffee. Palate seems smoother than Westoek X. This one might be the better of the two.

Bottle… Hazy golden ale with a small, wispy, white head. Spicy, herbal nose – rooty sassafras or sarsaparilla. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet, spicy, mildly acidic flavor – pale grains and honey with hints of toffee and sassafras. Finishes with a nice, lingering sweetness. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!
