3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber with a white head. Aroma of caramel and light fruit. Taste is more generically amber than I expected from struise, with even tones of honey and toast, with some underlying fruit and no sourness or funk at all. €3.7 Delirium Cafe

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an amber hue underneath a creamy, off-white head. Plenty of lacing left behind as the tight head fades away slowly. Smells of sugar, alcohol, and a very slight banana scent. Slight. Sweet, clovey taste. There is some of the banana in there as well. Kind of like a muted banana cream pie with a tinge of alcohol. Very unexpected and quite good. Thick and velvety mouth feel. Very nice beer. I wasn’t expecting much with the awfully printed label. Seriously, I could do better with crayons. But it is a very good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy pour with a large white head. Awesome spicy dough notes with lemon peel and banana abounding. The flavor holds more vibrant yeast notes, banana clove, citrus, and bread. Medium bodied palate with a doughy dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottled) Hazy darkish amber with a small, lacy head. Berryish nose with some aromatic hops, but mostly grainy-caramely malt and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is somewhat stingy and grainy-alcoholic, caramely-malty, with an aromatic-flowery touch and plenty of peachy fruitiness. Medium to full body with soft CO2. I was hoping for a stronger version of the Westoek X, but this seems quite different. Not really that bad as such, just a bit disappointing after the tasty X. Gets a lot better and more fruity as it warms up, with also the stinginess and grainy-alcoholic feel mostly vanishing. 5557

What can I say; nothing special, but not bad either. It’s average in many aspects; some sweetness which is balanced with some bitterness. A little yeasty as well. Ok, but not spectacular.
