bottle from beergeek in prague. hazy pale amber with a frothy head; aroma of candi sugar, ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers; hints of menthol, warming alcohol; very drinkable

Definitely needs a health warning - this review is based on the third of the bottle that ended up in the glass rather than on the floor. Reviews below confirm the same problem and suggest infection, which is quite possible. Straw colour, very cloudy, with a small white head once it’s all calmed down. Initially a huge sour aroma, which also calms down to something more akin to a tripel. Mixture of spice and sourness in the taste. OK, might have enjoyed it if it had lasted more than five minutes.

Very peculiar beer but a reel treat. It’s aroma has a certain fruitynes mixed with caramel and a nice sour aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Needed 3 glasses to pour the one 330ml bottle. Hazy yellow. Aroma is sour, acidic. Sourness masks the flavour. Don’t think this beer should be sour being a triple. Disappointed

330 ml bottle at Pipes of Scotland. Cloudy yellow with massive white head. Aroma fruity, pepper, lots of yeast esters and dry malt. Taste is dry, grainy, lots of yeast, fresh dry malt notes with a drug, grainy and fruity finish. High carbonation. Nice and fresh

Bottle at home. Had some problems with gushing. Nice amber coulor, tan foam. Smells soure, some oranges, citrus, a little bit alcohol and some banana. Taste medium bitterness, a little salty, lightly sour, some banana, nice warming alcohol taste, a little smoke, some coffee. My opinion: the beer has a nice taste but is infected, if it gushed that much...

Tripel version of Westoek X, for the same commissioner and also a four-grains ale. Thick, off-white head, misty ochre blonde colour. Bready and grassy aroma, orange peel, apple, pepper; fruity taste, yeasty, somewhat spicy, soft, dry maltiness, strongish leafy hop bitterness in the finish with some bourbon-like warming alcohol. Nice, but perhaps not the world class quality we are used to from the Struise Brouwers.

Lost almost half of the bottle just after openning but the taste wasn’t bad. Being a Struise beer this one was below my expectations.

Bottle as a bonus for an in person trade with Seb in Brussels - thanks! Like the other recent reviews this freaking bottle gushed like mad. Luckily I am in a crappy hotel room. Most of the bottle was lost. Have a bit in my mug now. Somewhat of a malty wheat nose. Still lots of carbonation, despite the thing gushing so much. Some mild tartness with some classic belgian spices. A little bitter and astringent on the finish.
