3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottles from Coppers, Newcastle. This cloudy red-brown beer explodes out of the bottle with a large foamy head. There are sour red fruity notes with spice and earthy and notes, dry lemon and a creamy finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. Lot 49/29/10. BB Jan 2016. From bierkompass.de.
Dark brown colour with a small greyish white head.
Caramel sweetness, malt and mild alcohol in the aroma. No real difference to X so far... The flavour is dark fruits, malt, caramel sweetness, yeasty bitterness and alcohol. Maybe a tad better than the X. A bit more balanced too.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled, BB Jan 2016, large sample. Clear amber color, short off-white head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast, green apple, hint of orange, some white wine. Quite dry taste, bit alcoholic, some sweetness, green apple again. Bit one-dimensional and too heavy on the alcohol or high alcohols. The weird sense of mashed apples with sugar (appelmoes) is also not something I would expect in a beer. I’m not a fan of this one.

Bottle from the Struise shop in Brugge. Very fruity smell, with dried fruits. A bit boozy, but not to bad. Similar taste, quite sweet. Full body. Nice beer to lean back and sip at.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 33cl, a cloudy copper-amber beer with huge head, got gushing. Nose is on caramel and caramalt with a sourish presence. Aroma is on the same but quite sweet, cherry touch, lot of caramel, anise, cinnamom. Near to a flemish red as the label suggests but less complex and quite sweet, lot of yeast notes.
