Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Somewhat hazy amber beer with an offwhite head. Fruity aroma, yeast notes, grapes, bread and hops. Fruity hop flavor, grapes,yeast,bready notes, some apples. Spicy notes.

Draught at Belgobaren, Stockholm. Hazy golden beer, white head. Candy and fruit aroma. Sweetish flavor, yeasty, candy and with fruity notes.

Bottle. Pours clear orange with a medium, fizzy and frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma and flavor are heavy malt (cookie, straw), perfume hops, fruity esters, horse blanket, dust, pear, and alcohol. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation with a dry finish.

Good dense, yellow head; pale amber beer. Herbal hops, greenery, root spices. Yeasty notes in the taste, with citrus, coriander, dry hops and greenmalt, rendering some sweetness retronasal. Quite slick, medium bodied. Aftertaste seems to yield some aniseed. This is definitely not my favourite Struise brew...

330ml bottle, best before January 2016, bought from Dranken Geers. Hazy amber colour. Fluffy white head. Lively carbonation. Strong spicy Belgian yeast aroma. tangy and slightly peppery on the palate. Moderate sharp bitter hop presence. Light mouthfeel. Easygoing and pleasantly drinkable without quite hitting the real high spots.

Bottle from Willems. Hazy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and light yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish. Oily. 270812

Draft at ACBF 2011. Cloudy gold pour with a foamy head. Mild grain and yeast on the nose. Flavor is quite sweet, plenty of caramel and demerera sugar. Medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Sugary finish, lots of malts. Very decent.

A hazed orange, amber pour with a white head. a fair bit of banana ester to the nose along with some orange peel and apricot fruitiness. A good malt and sugar sweetness and a lot of sugar. There is a lot of caramel and sugar sweetness to the palate, too. A fair amount of banana and tons of apricot fruit flavor. A definite alcohol presence, however.

Bottle in Bruges hotel room, picked at the Struise shop in town. Dark red orange appearance with a light brown head and nice lacing. A bit citrusy, slightly toasty malty, fairly spicy, yeasty aroma. Tangy, dull citrusy, a bit chewy, toasty malty, well carbonated, fairly spicy flavor. Ok.

Tap, 100ml at CBC. Dark apricot coloured body. Creamy white head. Dried fruity nose with a spicy touch. Sweet, dark fruity taste profile and a bit of dough and yeasty fruitiness. Rounded bittersweet ending. Decent and well balanced triple (Copenhagen, 12.05.2012).

Draught, Struise shop, Brugge, 14/02/12. Misted, apricot-coloured with a low white foam. Yeasty, Twiglet and strawberry fruit aroma. Dusty apple and apricot, the almond of booze. Wheat and pepper notes. So-so.
