corkyrory66 (232) - BELGIUM - MAY 10, 2013

Bottle. A - Similar to the regular Westoek, which is a good thing. Darker copper color with a large, foamy, somewhat thick, frothy, white head. A little more foamy and not quite as thick as the regular. Good retention with a nice lace. S - Very nice fruity aroma. Citrus and tropical fruit with a nice mix of tropical fruit, floral, and grassy hops. A good amount of ripe banana as well (more than the regular). Doesn’t have the funk and has a nice sweetness along with a touch of Belgian yeast. T - Definitely bigger and bolder than the regular (much appreciated). A big blast of tropical and stone fruit and a lot of ripe banana followed by a nice bready and spiced flavor. Belgian yeast in the background and a subtle sweetness. A nice hoppy tripel with a good fruity aspect along with a touch of floral and grassy hops. M - Medium body with a bit below average carbonation. Quite smooth. D - Really enjoyed this with all the aspects together. Bold with a nice fruity, hopped up tripel (compared to the bland flavor of the regular version). Just very easy to drink and flavorful. Notes: Really liked this beer. The aspects weren’t so up and down compared to the regular, but overall I enjoyed it more. Everything just worked well together even though the individual aspects themselves weren’t great. Much more flavorful than the regular version. Overall it was an enjoyable hoppy tripel.

Hazy orange color, slight yeast particals present. Average white head. Smell fruits, slight hints of hop and orange. Nice taste, soft yet kind of stimulating, tickling. It makes me want to taste more so that’s a good thing. Very good carbo, very good body. Very evenly balanced.

Pours hazy golden orange with a small white head. The nose is a mix of citrus, floral bouquet, some light spice and molasses. The taste is medium sweetness and high bitterness throughtout eventually finishing with more bitterness. The mouthfeel is sticky, body is heavy and the finish is long. ,
