BigMomma (223) - Leuven, BELGIUM - FEB 8, 2011
33cl bottle, 3 weeks old.
Pours a slightly hazy dark golden tot light copper color with a steady white head.
The aroma has lots of spicy hops, some malts and still some yeasty presence. The taste starts faintly sweet and ends in a spicy dry hopbitter finish.
Decent brew but for the time being to young, so a retaste is necessary.

Bottle from the Struise shop. Poured a nice looking hazy orange colour with a plump off white head which faded to a lingering medium size. Interesting aroma that was fragrant and earthy, with notes of candy, yeast, alcohol and tropical fruits. Flavour was along similar lines, with some hop presence that manifested itself more towards the finish. Quite an unusual brew that I warmed up to as the glass was drained.

PotjeBier (1771) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 10, 2011
33 cl bottle from Cracked Kettle. Orange/amber color, with big almost white head, shrinking to a small blanket. Smells like a (sweet) fruity triple: apple, peach, with some spiciness. Flavor is not as sweet as you would expect from the aroma’s but slightly so, malty sweetish, with hints of spices & bitterness. Maltiness develops, then a dry, fairly bitter finish. Good & solid Belgian triple (or whatever).

Clear amber body with a small white head. Aromatic hoppy and yeasty aroma with apricot, honey, quite floral overall. Smooth medium palate with little carbonation. Malty sweet flavour with strawberry, apricot, spices (notably clove). Nice, a bit on the sweet side.

Botle shared by Marcus. Pours orange amber with a transient beige head. Aroma is lightly fruity, mildly yeasty. Med body. It’s dry, yeasty, and a bit earthy. Quite a different tripel.

Bottle from the school house. I liked the first Westoek and this just builds on the idea - more flavors and more complexity. Nice.

@ACBF 2011. Nice hops throughout the aroma and sip. I like this one better than the first!

Scrapersnbeer (1491) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Yeasty citrus, spice and grape aromas. Murky pumpkin color, fine tan head. Taste is a much darker mix than the scent: candied dark fruit, boozey brown sugar, and a touch of salt. Thick, fluffy and filling. Too heavy to be a tripel, too sweet to be a sour. Nice, kind of unique ale.
