beeebon (139) - Cornwall, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2014
A hazy orange coloured beer with minimal but lingering head. Taste is various fruits like apple (reminding me of cider at times), pear, grapes and plum. Added to this is the yeast and some spice. The taste is sweet and a little sour with mild bitterness. A very decent beer.

Draft at ACBF 2011. Cloudy gold pour with a foamy head. Mild grain and yeast on the nose. Flavor is quite sweet, plenty of caramel and demerera sugar. Medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Sugary finish, lots of malts. Very decent.

Bottle. Poured cloudy dark amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex citrus and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a smooth complex beer

Bottle; bought from magic yeast shop, 33cl, poured into Struise glass on an absolutely blindingly hot day. White lacing, murky copper-bronze appearance, aroma is floral hops, pine, banana, toffee, treacle, oranges, brown sugar. Taste is oranges, toffee, banana. caramelt, pine, gorgeous sprakling mouth feel, candy sugar, slightly burnt toast notes-mildy roasted and sharp on the tongue, alcohol, wood, a bit of burn but not too aggressive, floral hops, reasonably balanced. An interesting beer, think I hold this back a bit too long thu, Sorry Carlo and Urbs, my amateurish rate here.

(Bottled) Hazy darkish amber with a small, lacy head. Berryish nose with some aromatic hops, but mostly grainy-caramely malt and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is somewhat stingy and grainy-alcoholic, caramely-malty, with an aromatic-flowery touch and plenty of peachy fruitiness. Medium to full body with soft CO2. I was hoping for a stronger version of the Westoek X, but this seems quite different. Not really that bad as such, just a bit disappointing after the tasty X. Gets a lot better and more fruity as it warms up, with also the stinginess and grainy-alcoholic feel mostly vanishing. 5557

Bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a large white head. A sweet fruity and peppery nose, some lemon zest. The flavor is interesting: dominated by spicy and sweet Belgian ale flavors, some light bitter hops and zesty citrus (mostly lemon). It works but isn’t quite as good as a IPA or Belgian Ale alone would be.
