Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 26, 2007 On tap at the 2007 Parkville Microbrew Festival. Pours cloudy amber with a medium off white head. Has a very nice ginger spice aroma. A strong sweetness to the flavor helps a bit to balance an otherwise one-dimensional spice beer. If this is a 3.7, then Kitschy has spice on the brain. kitschy (129), Nebraska, USA May 3, 2007 on tap at Parkville Microfest, under the name Spice Beer. A wonderful beer, my favorite of the festival!! A classic winter spice beer, amber in color, creamy thick cream-colored head. Aroma has nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is reminiscent of a fine pumpkin pie. My favorite beer of the winter... discovered in April heemer77 (3752), Savannah, Missouri, USA Apr 15, 2007 On tap at O’Malley’s pub. I drank this while enjoying a great show by the Kelihans. The body was medium copper with a slightly off white head. The aroma was nutmeg with some caramel and banana. The taste had notes of ginger bread with some light funky pear cores. There was a spicy finish. This could have used some more body. theisti (1084), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jan 7, 2007 Updated: Jan 9, 2007Tap at Weston Brewing restaurant above O’Malleys in Weston. See my review for O’Malley’s Cream Ale for the overall experience, which is excellent. Not sure if I got a good one or not but this smelled and tasted like Vick’s Vapo Rub. I am unsure what they were trying to achieve with this one, but if they hit the mark, it’s not my type of beer.
