We’re excited to announce the launch of GL Cider in 2 litre plastic bottles exclusively for convenience stores. The launch follows the successful return of GL, or Gold Label Cider, into pubs across the Three Counties last year.
Medium sweet, and deep amber in colour, with an ABV of 4%, the revived GL is faithful to the original recipe. The bottle design stays true to its original branding whilst adding a contemporary twist.
Ian Lewis, Head of Marketing at Westons Cider, comments: “We have had great pleasure in restoring this iconic cider to its former greatness. GL has been an important cider to cider drinkers in the Three Counties and has received a warm and welcome return over the last year. Taking GL into convenience stores will allow aficionados of the cider to enjoy it from the comfort of their own homes.

Half pint @ The Cider House, Bridgnorth, an absolute joke of a cider pub! I’d never heard of GL before, so was curious to see a deep gold colour cider presented before me with a sweet butterscotch aroma. Taste is a super sickly sweet caramel taste that coats the tongue in the kind of sticky residue you get when drinking a can of Fanta too quick. Very surprised Westons would put their name to this.
