Commercial Description:
This cider, which is made from top quality apples, has been allowed to mature in old oak vats for up to six months and then specially selected for Henry Weston, great-grandson of the founder, as the very best of the year's vintages.

Bottle from a Weston’s giftpack, purchased at the LCBO. Clear golden with a slight white head. Aroma of tart apples with a slightly funky and cheesy edge. Flavour is a bit sweeter than the aroma suggests, but isn’t cloying - still a bit of tart funkiness going on, and some woody notes as well. A bit of boozy warmth to finish. Pretty nice stuff, definitely my favourite of the three in the gift box.

Bottle. Oaky, sour, yeasty aroma. Reasonable complexity but a bit clean. Off dry with some acidity and palate cleansing finish.

Bottle: Poured a medium yellow color cider with some very sparse bubble. Aroma of medium sweet apple are allots dominated by some funky farmhouse notes. Some oak notes appear at the end through the oily texture. Interesting but again not what I am used to or a cider.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Another pale bottled cider, a bit of fizzy foam subsides in an instant to leave a flat appearence. Aroma is as expected, ciderish apples and a little alcohol. Flavour is medium sweet, fruity, slightly woody with some high alcohol charactristics but for the most part well hidden. Ever so slight farmhouse character. Pleasent and refreshing, for a rather commercial cider this isn’t bad.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a small but longlasting white head. Sweet apples in aroma with some white grapes. Dusty but sweet apples in flavour with a little alcohol touch. Medium bodied. Nice.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with plenty of visible fizz. Pretty nice apple aroma, not too sweet. Fruity and fairly sweet flavour with some earthiness and noticable warming alcohol in the finish. Pleasant mouthfeel. Good.

500 ml bottle. Golden and crystal clear. Small white head at the edges. Rich aroma with oak and tannins. Apples are mellow and sweet. Quite a lot of alcohol in there, but it is not really that noticeable. Medium-bodied. Fruity apple flavours. Warming in the finish. Ripe apples.
