3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GregClow (2645) - Toronto, - NOV 12, 2006
Bottle from a Weston’s giftpack, purchased at the LCBO. Clear golden with a slight white head. Aroma of tart apples with a slightly funky and cheesy edge. Flavour is a bit sweeter than the aroma suggests, but isn’t cloying - still a bit of tart funkiness going on, and some woody notes as well. A bit of boozy warmth to finish. Pretty nice stuff, definitely my favourite of the three in the gift box.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - DEC 21, 2011
16.9oz bottle -
Since BevMo had many of their unusual ciders on sale, I thought why the heck not. I enjoy a refreshing cider that’s not overly cloying, and so far the two I’ve had from Weston’s were both really nice. Apples in the aroma on this one, but so is just a hint of wood/oak barrel. Almost reminds me of a champagne, but not quite. Flavor has strong notes of apples, vanilla and oak..much more present in the flavor than the aroma. Finishes with a slight acidic/vinegar like ending. A nice showcase of apples without becoming candy-like.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 maneliquor (1005) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2011

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 suurjuust (242) - Tartu, ESTONIA - OCT 18, 2011
2010 vintage. Pale gold, no lasting head to speak of. Nose is sour apples, acidic notes, yeast, wooden notes. The taste is less complex than the nose would suggest - mainly acidic apples, with some wooden-yeasty undertones. It’s good, but not great.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerBaboon (845) - FINLAND - OCT 14, 2011
Clear, pale golden. Earthly aroma of apples and yeast. The flavour and palate are not as good as you could assume based on the aroma. Sweet, apply and dry. It’s a good cider.
