0,5L bottle. Pours straw with white head. The head doesn’t stay. ˇAroma is sweet, vinous, and pear. Taste is very sweet, with some tart. Overall: it’s not awful, but it’s also not really good.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Clear golden/straw/green.
Aroma: Musty, earthy, wood, leaves, acetic .
Taste: Medium/high tartness and medium sweetness.
Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium body, average carbonation, abrupt , dry, pear with an initial tartness which develops into sweetness with an alcohol warmth. There is a degree of champagne/white wine vinosity and strangely a touch of umami.
Comments: Very tasty. Initially quite tart but the flavour develops and becomes balanced . Rating is for 2012 Vintage.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle from Co-Op. Taste is a little bizarre for a Herefordshire perry, with a juicy, plummy fruitiness and overly sugary pear cordial sweetness. I presume they’re aiming for a commercial market with this, which pretty much counts me out.

A different kind of sweetness than with apples. Alcohol balances the sweetness with out tasting. Quite well balanced perry. would drink more if it wasnt so high abv
