3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of the better exported ciders, the Weston’s Premium is balanced without losing its sweetness, a touch of oak? aging, but good fruity tartness as well. Fizzy indeed, thin head, but dark and refreshing.

Appearance: Golden colour with no head.
Aroma: Very acidic, dry but also a cear prescence of apples that I like.
Flavour: Rich apple flavour dry but also an appealing sweetness, some notes of vinegar.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On Draught at the Hessen Haus
Pours a golden color with a very small head that is actually well retained, which is weird for cider but it’s kind of cool.
The aroma is tart and oaky, some mild funk, crisp apple. The cider is pungent and remarkable smelling at first I had it at an 8 for aroma but I brought it down a point because over the course of the pint the aroma faded till it was really quite boring, strange.
The flavor is tart and fairly sweet, it finishes dry so that’s a plus. The cider is very apple-y, a little oaky, and fairly tart with a mild spiciness.
Not too bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
568ml bottle shared with Blockley. Pours a clear dark gold, with, as one might expect of a cider, no head. There is a pervasive aroma of Jarlsberg cheese, mixed with dried apple. Initially it tastes much the same, before a dry, tart apple takes over. The finish adds some sweeter fruit characteristics. Not as good as some other Westons ciders, and the Jarlsberg flavour is very weird, but I do still find this fairly enjoyable.
