leaparsons (3804), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 18, 2005 Bottle from Sainsbury. Golden with lots of bubbles - like pop. Aromas are thin apple juciy with some acidicy but no mustiness. Flavours are inferior to Appletize - quite thin apple, some sourness. It has been removed of its character. Clean and fresh - but also bland. Wouldn’t be very nice served at room temerature. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Jan 18, 2005 500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Pours sparklingly carbonated, very pale with a clear body. Aroma is of long life apple juice and spirit alcohol (typical of semi-real cider) with a background touch of butter and perfume. Flavour is light bodied and apple like with a pleasant dryness but without any of the lambic like farmhouse funk and sourness of proper cider. Retains the familiar Westons oak smoky character. As you progress down the glass the complete lack of body or character complexity catches up on you and you realise this is just bland dry apple squash. Neither good or bad.
