Tap @ Cloisters, Edinburgh. Yellow/orange colour. Medium carbonation. Fruity aroma of sweet apples with dry aftertaste. Some smoky touches. Good cider.

I canít say my socks were absolutely knocked off by this cider. Yellow-gold in colour with a niff of sweetish cider apples and taste of the same. Not a great memorable finish but medium sweet and quaffable.

On tap at the Cross Keys in Molesworth, UK: This was labelled as Stowford Press Traditional Draft Cider so Iím unsure if it is the dry or medium dry. Poured light yellow with a medium sized, quickly disappearing white head. Very mild apple aroma. Flavor is mild apple with a slight sweetness up front followed by a slight sourness in the finish. Kind of watery in my opinion but decent.

Keg in Bentham. Golden with a bit of white froth. Quite dry with apple flavour plus some sweetner. Refreshing and OK, but pretty watery.

On tap at the Lady Luck, Canterbury. Clear, effervescent orange colour with the faintest touch of a head with no longevity. Acidic apple nose. Sweet apple flavours with a dry, sweetish finish.

[On tap at Sweeney & Toddís, Reading] My cider-drinking friends rave about this stuff, so I thought Iíd give it a go. It pours pale gold and fizzy, with a small rapidly dissipating white head. Fortunately the fizz is less aggressive on the mouth than the eye. Taste is rather sour/vinegary, with some slight metallic notes, but itís definitely more drinkable than most of its mass-market rivals - itís quite dry, light and refreshing in fact. So, not a total write-off, but still nothing to write home about.

Clear yellow with a fizzy quick disappearing head. Smells of sugar and apples, candy, wood and rustic. Medium thin body. Tastes like sweet apples with a dry apple light acid finish. Watery but generally enjoyable.

Thin yellow colour with light carbonation. Light apple smell. Watery Palate. Medium Dry with a tart finish. Simple apple taste. Some chemical feel to the aftertaste. Although its a little watery its enjoyable and very drinkable A simple cheap cider well done.

Pale yellow, very small diminishing white head. Nose is apple peel, some acidity. Taste is more of the same, but with pronounced acidity. Tart finish, thin body, fizzy mouthfeel, not overly carbonated. Decent.
Earlier Rating: 10/4/2011 Total Score: 3
Pale fizzy golden. Nose is applejuice, the taste is more applejuice with pleasantly crisp acidity, no over-the-top sweetness. Refreshing and very drinkable.

As Marks & Spencer Hertfordshire Cider, 440ml
Piss golden, carbonation driven white froth disappears quickly. Pleasant enough light apple juice nose, no chemical bile fermented stench as most of my experience of canned cider equates to. Clean and simple apple fuzz on initial taste, tart enough and a fizzy dryness that reminds me of those chalky kids Vitamin tablets. Disconcertingly sweet. This probably isnít helped by a thin and dry body with a tart purr on the finish. Linger is softly sweet, kids Apple juice and an old towel patchy dryness. Very clean and simple, all told, here. I prefer smashing some of their more VINTAGE versions and have been known to opt for this in a guest cask dodging Spoons, but this was pleasantly passable if lacking in real quench.

Can, M&S, Waverly Station, Edinburgh
