Tap at Churchkey. Nice to see this comes in 2L PET bottles. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Odd plastic aroma moving to diaper and then finally fresh apple. Taste is tart then heavy sweet with large dollops of sugar. Still, not cloyingly sweet. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Not too bad.

Cask Handpump at Blind Jacks, Knaresborough 28/04/2004 Golden coloured and slightly tangy. Some dryness in the finish.

Tap. Pale orange-gold colour. No head and moderate carbonation. Aroma is very tannic and full of apple skins. Flavour has a bit of wildness, but in both appearance and aroma, it would be tough to separate this from Magner’s. Soft apple character with a light sweetness and a touch of herbal character. Quite a nice cider.

Can. Rather average apple nose, pale gold color with lace. Bland, medium sweet flavor, apple, some spice. Just a touch of tartness. Drinkable and tasty, though not very interesting. Refreshing, not much else going on.

500ml can from Tesco. Pours clear yellow, no head. Aromas of sweet eating apples, granny smith’s maybe. Taste is sweet too, metallic notes present. Bit sticky on the finish.

Tap - Canal House - Nottingham. I was disappointed to see just two real ales in this pub when I walked in; both of which I’d previously rated and didn’t warrant a rerate. Therefore chose this, expecting to dislike it. I was actually pleasantly suprised thoug. It’s golden in colour and has tons of fizz. The aroma is sweet and very apply. Again lots of apple in the taste with low carbonation and medium sweetness. Quite smooth and inoffensive, and not nasty as predicted. A superior mass produced keg cider.

Bottle. Mild and yet dry apple aroma. Mild but not sweet apple flavor, a bit watery though. High carbonation and a short aftertaste.

Light yellow coloured and clear. Has a white head, diminishing. Aroma has notes of apples. Flavor is light sweet, moderate acidic, light astringent. Watery texture.

Yellow clear cider. Starts with a white head, diminishing. Has some bitter aroma-notes. Not much fruit in the aroma. Flavor is mainly acidity and bitter.

Can at home shared with Sarah. Crystal clear golden / orange coloured pour with a fleeting white froth. Aroma is semi sweet apple juice, plastic, a little bile, woody apple pips. Flavour is composed of tangy apple, light acid, fruit juice. Palate is very light, spritzy carbonation and semi sweet. Slightly thin. Pretty clean, decent apple character.

Keg, The Red Deer, Sheffield, 01/01/13. Pale fizzing green gold without a head. Rubbery somewhat industrial aroma. Better flavour with hints of sauce on gammon, light tannins, sparkling white wine, stomach cramps. Gut-rot: didn’t half finish a half.
