This premium cider is fermented and matured in old oak vats from a single year's crop of cider apples. It is a strong cider with a very high bitter-sweet juice content which gives a full rich fruit character.

500ml bottle. Clear straw-yellow golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates away and aroma of fruity apple with some wood, oak. Taste is tangy apple, apple skin, with some sweetness and vanilla notes. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite OK.

Bottle from waitrose drunk on the train to Canterbury. God knows what it looks like as I am drinking this on a train out of the Bottle. Apple skin yeast and apple pie aroma. It’s fine. I quite like the spritzy apple skin flavour. Some sweetness slightly tannic. Some aged effect from the more complex apple flavours. Yep ok if too sweet

Bottle from Waitrose in Balham. Colour is clear amber, white bubbles that dissipates quickly. Nose is sweet fresh apples, little apple tannin, little sugary, subtle dryness. Taste is great balance of sweet and tart which shades into sweet, with a bit of dry apple tannin and fruit sweetness.

Has a distinct sour apple aroma.. think those apple flavour penny sweets you had as a kid. Sweet and well balanced. Tasted a little stronger than other supermarket Vintages. Would drink again.

Bottle. Pale gold with low carbonation. Aromas are earthy apple with citrus and some hintsof barnyard. Either I’ve pissed myself or there are traces of urine. Flavours are swwwt and sour apple with yeast and some woody notes. Some apricot jam with tart citrus. Dry to finish. Fairly well disguised alcohol. Pretty decent.
Earlier Rating: 9/26/2005 Total Score: 3.2
1 ltr bottle. Light gold in colour. Aromas are apple juice with pepper, quite sweet and sour. Flavours are sweet, mild apple with wood, vanilla and a rustic (almost) earthiness. Also has hints of caramel. Spritzy without harsh alcohol. Pretty good.
