3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 scotty (959) - - FEB 21, 2013Bottle from Morrisons. Pale gold/straw in colour, quite heady fruity nose, full bodied, rather weighty. Well balanced mouthful, loads of fruit with a surprising streak of acidity, there’s a noticable sweetness which was unexpected at this ABV. Much better than I’d expected.

500ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Remarkably appley, and apple skin-ey aroma, a touch of farmy funk too. Very pale, but only as you’d expect from a perry - totally clear, and rather a lemonadey spritz to it. Crisp in the mouth, crisp carbonation, and a spine tingling sharpness. All my hairs stood on end. Taste is also a little peary but hinting at sharp apples too. I don’t remember a perry as sharp as this before. I think the local cider cows won’t like this, but it’s a pretty good perry. I’m not a huge fan of filtered clear ciders from anywhere apart from France and Spain, but Westons do make quality products, and this is one of them. I was thirsty, and with no regard to the rumoured 7.4% alcohol, I pretty much slammed this. Pulling a wasp-chewing face and a mongy contortion every time I paused for breath, of course. Deep down, I’m a scrumpy perry guy. So sorry, Westons, I can’t give this a high score, but I promise I’ll keep buying Old Rosie though!
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rauchbier (3395) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle, from Tesco, Scunthorpe. Pale golden yellow, fizzy shortlived white head and moderate condition. Low fruitiness in the nose with traces of pear drops, quite full and tangy in the mouh with hints of pineapple and some woodiness over the pear notes, a little sharp and bitter in the finish with so fruitiness lingering.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beersiveknown (1625) - NORTHERN IRELAND - JUL 16, 2011
Often my fallback in Wetherspoon pubs with a poor Ale offering. Although not "real" this medium-dry perry is thirst quenching. Fruity nose with astringent body and sweet finish. Lots of pear character and noticable alcohol content.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very pale and clear with a vaguely green shine. Tart, vinegary aroma. Medium body with sweet’n’sour accents with the pear flavours being rather subdued. The alcohol is scaringly well hidden. 291006
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (8492) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2006
Bottled, 500ml. Virtually no colour at all and no head. Fresh and fruity perry, sharp and mouthcleansing. Sharp acidic pear juice with a good alcohol kick, a little sweet, but overall a decent enough drink.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DonMagi (5598) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2006
Aroma of pear drops with a bitterness of apple skins, quite nice. Taste is a bit sweet with pear dominating, alcohol well hidden, no alcohol present.
