3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 markwise (2698) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 25, 2011
This one was a long time in coming. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is sweet malt, earthy, grassy hops, a bit of sweetness, and a bit of mustiness. Flavor is similar- nice sweet quality about it followed by some earthy hop bitterness, finishing with some mustiness. Very enjoyable Belgian session beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackSwan (23) - Frisco (Dallas), USA - MAY 10, 2011
Pours a cloudy yellow body with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is herbal, spicy, woody, and grassy with a hint of butterscotch. The mouthfeel is medium in body and light in warmth. It has a mixture of subtle flavors: grass, wood, hay, and banana.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Wolfbass (517) - Firenze, ITALY - MAY 6, 2011
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Shakesbeere (187) - Oxford, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2011
33cL bottle from specialty shop in Brussels. Pours a golden pear with a bone-white head that gradually simmers away. Smells of malted barley predominantly -- very fresh and crisp. Flavor-packed for a blond -- some sweet barley notes that balance perfectly with slight hop bitterness (both in the foreground) along with some yeast notes and a slight wheat taste that permeates through one layer of the taste. Very dry. Finishes very smoothly on a sweet, grainy note. This is the best blond ale I have ever had.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Scopey (1192) - Croydon, Surrey, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2011
Bottle at In de Vrede. It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thick fluffy white head and low to moderate carbonation. The nose is white bread, yeast, grapefruit, yellow plum, lemon and honey-suckle. The taste is: bread, yeast, honey, grapefruit, tangy lemon and some soap, with a very long bitter finish. It has a foamy mouth-feel and a satisfying hop-bite. Not my favourite style, but I was impressed with the quality of this one.
