Drank it at the brewery, on a cold, sunny, crisp March day!! I went to see the monks, they wont let you in, but they are very friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of my favorites blond beers. Westvleteren lives up to the hype, even with the blond delight. Creamy yellow body with lemon aroma and taste. Light bitterness, citrus, earthy, slightly sweet finish. Good for when you’re slightly thirsty and/or with warmer weather. Still have some at home for the summer.

Bottle thanks to Dr. Owl during RBWG Lobby Share. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy off white head. The aroma is floral, wheat, yeast, dough. Medium mouth with nice funk, lemon, dough, light sweetness, really enjoyed this one.

The beer has a nice blond color, which is a bit cloudy. In its aroma, it combines malt, yeast and some fruit accents. These are also reappear in the taste, where the fruit accent hints at the combination of banana and citrus. The most amazing is the balance you find in this beer. Definitely a benchmark for blond abbey/trappist style beers.

Blonde beer with nice cap rich of flavour recalling honey. Amazing taste with an unbelivable balance between sweet and bitter. You can’t distinguish between since its balancing it’s amazing. Really nice body not loosing its really easy drinkable characteristic. Amazing!

Bottle of 33cl, in a Westvleteren Trappist glass; from the fridge.
Great blond beer, but well, is not as good as the Westvleteren XII.
The aroma is great aswell as the deep blond colour. Nice taste of trappist yeast, with the usual blond taste (wheat, barley).
Go try it !

Aroma of fruits, light malt, yeast, hint of spices. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Quite tasty Belgian Blonde.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml bottle, shared at La Tana (Rome). Best before 2010, what a drag it is getting old! (especially for a belgian ale). Poured a cloudy golden bright color with a medium white head. Aroma is honey, flowers, a touch of orange peel. Flavour is undefined, sweet but evanescent, some honey traces, so watery. It totally lacks its body! Just a note: This rate should not count on the overall value of this beer which remains a world class when fresh!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0,33 bottle shared by Mortlach at la Tana pub in Rome-Italy. Huge thanks Sir! Best before 2010, this beer was easily over 7-8 years old which is pretty much for a Belgian Ale. Anyway...poured a cloudy golden bright color, the white cap was amazingly all there. Nose: massive blast of honey! Yeast in the background. Mouth: thin or better invisible body, light honey sweetness. I have sipped it a lot before pouring it away. This rate should not count on the overall value of this beer which fresh stays world class!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy pale gold with a white head that lasts well. Aroma is spicy and floral with light dough, lemons. Fairly high carbonation, creamy alive texture. Not so yeasty as it smells, more hay than dough, some apricot, lovely lemon and quite punchy (but not overbearing) spices, dry at the end with moderate bitterness. Refreshing, elegant.
