Skidds (172), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Nov 12, 2006 Thank you Belgian shop for sending me this. Very good, but quite a straight forward ale, all things considered. Pours a gorgeous almost opaque orange. Fruity spicy esters and hops. Medium bodied with a dry, almost overly dry finish. Very good ale.
uhre (231), Denmark Aug 18, 2008 This beer was a bit old (not too old), so it didn’t not have that much hop flavor.
The head is creamy and the beer is golden with some yeast particles. There is a bit of hops in the aroma and some yeast with a bit of caramel. Flavor is bitter with banana notes and spicies and it has a dry finish. DSG (835), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 6, 2008 Bottle (thanks Dedollewaitor!). BB 10/03/07. Yellow to pale golden color with a huge slowly-diminishing frothy white head. Very nice slightly funky aroma with flowers, fruits, citrus, some hops, light spiciness and a bit of yeast. A rather dry flavor with a great house character, fruits (quite a bit of citrus - lemon and some grapefruit mostly), some dust and nice earthy bitter hops as well as light sweeter notes. Medium-bodied. A great characterful Ale. Kalli (404), Falun, Sweden Aug 4, 2008 [Archive]
Caramel aroma. Nice head and lace. Not particularly fruity but some hint of banana? kpresley77 (61), Jackson, Georgia, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottle courtesy of fonefan pours hazy golden with foamy white head. Aroma is yeast. First taste is sweet bread with nice carbonation. Clean dry finish. Very well balanced beer. mvcramer (191), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Jul 30, 2008 Thanks to Marisa for sharing this one after my incessant begging for a full year... Golden pour with an absolutely snow white pillowy head. Looked like soft cotton and left beautiful lacing on the glass. High carbonation and a glowing golden color. Nose is yeasty and bready. Quite pleasing. Very balanced on the palate, not overly sweetened like some blonds tend to be and there is a definite subtle hop spiciness on the finish. A very good beer - probably suffers from the comparison with its 2 higher ABV siblings at the same brewery - and one not to be missed.
