COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Westvleteren Blond is the basic beer for the monks’ own consumption, since 1999, when the former 6° dark ale (red cap) was finally discarded, after the 4° had already gone that path.

Bottle at In de Vrede. Hazy yellow with a medium head. Great lacing. Nice color. Aroma is malty and citrusy. Very fresh. Some hops, coriander and fruits. Taste is spicy, malty. Hints of coriander and alcohol but not much. Incredible lacing. Best belgian blond ever.

33cl bottle at home. Tasted blind. Appearance: light clouded blonde beer, small stable white head. Nose: bitter, quite hoppy, little fruity. Taste: very bitter, rather fruity. So in total, this reminded me of an IPA, but a little more balanced. Very good beer!

15 CL glass at ’’Trappist- en Kaasproeverij Hamont-Achel’’ at 18-05-2013, Blond beer with a hoppy aroma(citrus), taste was good but nothing special. Don’t call be a Blasphemer but there are better beers out there.

Poured from a 11.2 ounce bottle, thanks to my wife. This is a four year old bottle. The aroma is filled with honey and slight floral. The tastes is honey and slightly floral, very similar to the aroma. Showing signs of oxidation, but it has held up well. Carbonation is on the high side.

The aroma is barnyard, lemon, pepper. The appearance is a hazy yellow, slight orange tinge, fluffy white head. Sentiment in bottle. The flavor is lemon, fruit, pepper, barnyard. The finish is pepper, other spices. Medium in body, lots of carbonation. Best of the Westy beers, imho.

Tasted from the bottle, bottled on 19/20/2011, in Copengagen. Pours ultra hazy pale orange color with s fluffy head. Aroma is amazing, peppery, spicy, honey and flowery - very complex. Taste is even more interesting, a bit too honey sweet, but still has a lots of spices and tart fruits. Quite unusual aroma, lovely taste, definitely - Recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
