Pours deep mahogany brown with a thin cream colored head. Nose of pitted fruit, light pepper. Taste adds vanilla. Body is big but ultra silky. As my wife puts it... I can’t believe I ticked 3 from the monks of westvlertern.

As first strikes me the delicious freshness of this beer. Next to the freshness there is a good balance off spiciness. Taste of maturity and just the right bitterness.

Bottle.
Appearance: Dark brown body, thin tan head.
Aroma: Apples, lots of fruit.
Taste: Apples on the intro, really fruity into a sweet caramel that just drops off to a dry airy finish with sugar lingering, beautiful.
Palate: Full bodied to light and fizzy.
Overall: Best dubbel I’ve ever had, next level shit.

33cl bottle. Hazy brown with medium, ivory grey head. Nose : toffee, cooked cherries and multitude of other fruits like apples for example, tart, yeast. Sip : oily and smooth. Good carbonation. The sip is warming. It's sweet and fruity. It has fruity and spicy background. I understand the fuss about it and for some reasons I might even say I prefer this one then the 12. Great beer.

BBE 17.08.15, quite new bottle. A dark brown beer with a medium and beige head. Aroma starts with dark fruit and some green and sour apples, spices, some sweetness, with yeast also some bananas. Taste is quite dry, dark fruits, lots of spices, earthyness and some sourness. Medium bodied, high carbonation, still nice and smooth to drink. Good beer, but not the climax, dark fruits with some sourness and mystic of Trappist.
