Duft af blommer, abrikos, rosiner og rapadura. Lys brun uden skum med sedimenter. Smager fremragende af tørrede frugter og er meget sød. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the monastery, 9 months old. Deepish brown to ruby with a moderate body and a medium, long lasting tan head. Aroma a big surprise, full of dried and dark fruits and fig strongly prominent, more so than I’ve noticed before (due perhaps to its slight age, or the warmer temperatures). Taste is medium to heavy sweet, with medium bitterness and a light sourness helping to balance things out. Warming alcohol lets you know it’s strong but without overpowering, and the initial yeastiness drops away to leave a dark fruity aftertaste and enough bitterness to prevent any cloying stickiness. Palate is creamy with a very long finish. This is one to enjoy slowly, with a good break after before getting another beer. Wasted in a session, this is a perfect bottle for those nights where you’re having ’just the one’. Absolute delight, and if you’re UK based it’s well worth the effort of getting hold of a case or two.

Toasted brown body topped by a creamy, poofy brownish khaki head. The nose is of medium to dark fruits with fig touches discernably emerging upon aeration. Toasty and caramel body with some tannins as well as worty, darker amber malt, caramunich, and Special B notes. Needs time to age, attenuate, and dry out.

330 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Murky reddish brown. Big off white head. Thick collar. Pecan nuttiness when it’s cold. Much fruitier as it warms. Yeasty. Kinda phenolic. Flavor is equally yeasty up front. Nutty as the yeast dies down. Some brown caramel malt. Light chocolate. Finish is clove spiciness. Aggressive hop flavor through, kinda grassy and bitter. High carbonation. Medium body. Not a style I love, but it’s really well made.
