COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
BlackHaddock (3201) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2014
My third bottle (500ml’s) on 22nd Jan 2014 during my second visit to Weiss-Blau, Charlottenburg Berlin. Copper to old gold in body colour, the head a white crown that tried to stay around for a while. Light malty nose, caramel and semi-sweet in nature. The flavours in the actual taste were a little weak to be honest, semi-sweet malts ruled the flavour but it lacked depth and oomph. Pleasant enough but I wanted more from my bottle. There were hints of a nut flavour: but I wanted fruit and nuts with knobs on! I’m being harsh maybe: it was fine, just not as flavoursome as I’d expected or hoped for.

Moravius (276) - Berlin, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2014

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20
3fourths (7803) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Draft at Fränkisches Bierfest in Nürnberg.
I went for a full glass after having a bit the day before and thinking it had potential.
Sadly this beer plays a different song when it is warmed.
Brilliant copper body, cascading, frothy, slow-crawling carbonation.
Raw cereals in the nose.
Cosmetics, rose pedals, apple, make up powder, fusel alcohols.
Cereal, toffee, orange jelly Munich malt.
Sweet and sour flavor with candle wax and orange flavored makeup.
Peanut nuttiness and more fusels in a watery finish.

Koelschtrinker (9998) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - NOV 17, 2012
Weich herber Antrunk, deutlich getreidig, geringe Süße. Erdig malzig, würzig süß, Alkoholtouch. Etwas trockenes Finish. 11/12/11/10/11/11

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 12/20
EithCubes (4641) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 22, 2012
Bottle by 08.11.12. Nose sweet caramel and a lot more like a Dunkel, though with touches of spice and grass. Dark, clear orange body with a frothy tan head. Taste of caramel and toast, faint citrus but some moderate hop quench, lightly crisp, good malt depth, medium body. Enjoyed, refreshing.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20
kiwianer (3315) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 29, 2012
Fazit: trinkbar! Test vom 11.12.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,8,8,10,8 - 8,35

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 14/20
Maria (9963) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 11, 2011
It’s beautiful intense orange, like liquid amber with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, fruit and cookies. The flavour is moderately sweet with the same notes as the aroma, and the finish is slightly dry – quite nice.

Quack-Duck (7523) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 12, 2010
bottle from Frankenland. Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty nose. Medium-bodued, malty, grainy, shy hints of apples. Shy hops in the finish. Pleasant carbonation.

Oakes (11874) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 9, 2009
Bright. Copper colour. Light caramel nose with crackers and toast. Sweetish caramel character. Good, but doesn’t really stand out.

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
Beershine (5196) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2009
Draft @ Franconian beer festival. Bright coppery orange with a tight white head. Nice, almost maibockian aroma. Is malty and sweet-smelling. A little chalky in the palate. Ends up being weaker and blander than most of the other dunkelbiers at the festival.
