3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 slang (654) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - MAR 6, 2004Poured a copper/amber tint. I love watching these nitro can beers settle! All thanks to the "widget", I guess. This is a very clear ale when it settles. There isn't too much to the nose. Maybe caramel apple, uummm. Yeah, and cream and malts. Very easy with an enjoyable aftertaste on the palate. Some what watery and astringent at the same time, though. Um, decent.

44cl can with nitro. Pours clear copper with an off-white nitro head. Aroma of malt, caramel, dried fruits and hints of hops. Medium to light body. Sweet and a bit weak in flavour, but with a slightly dry finish with a pleasant bitterness. Quite ok.

Canned with nitro. Amber with a thick, creamy nitro-head. Aroma of caramel with a fruity touch. Caramel malty and dark fruity flavour. Rather sweet, but decent bitterness.

Can with that little nitro widget - Pour clear dark amber with a creamy off white head. Nose is caramel and toffee over a light biscuity malt. Almost smells like candi sugar. Taste is sugary sweet with light biscuity malt, a touch of herbal hops, and a long caramelly yeasty finish. Creamy carbonation makes this feel fuller than it is. Too sweet for my tastes, but it’s inoffensive otherwisr.

On Tap. Pours a clear copper, slight head. Aroma is a slightly soured fruit. Grape, malt and some hops. A slight creamy feel, but perhaps a bit thin for the style.

Can--pretty standard nitro, canned ale. Light, amber color with a huge head and a slight aroma of biscuit. Some malt taste and a touch of toffee leads to a bitter finish. Total Wine.

Amber color with creamy head. Hard to detect any aromatics. Mouthfeel is flat but full and creamy. Sweet up front flavor followed by dryness.

Draft @ Trion. Light almost imperceptible malt aroma. Clear copper with a small off-white head. Earthy barley malt flavor. Medium body, flat carbonation. Unremarkable.

0.5 can. Small white head on top of a clear, light brown, kind-of-coppery-colored liquid. Aroma is delicate, some biscuit, dough, vanilla, a little bit of coffee and spices, quite pleasant. Taste is definitely meek, yeasts mixed with malts, slightly bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture and a flat carbonation. Finish is medium long, somewhat bitter. All in all the beer is really average, I personally like irish creamy ales, but this one doesn’t have much to do with them.

tap A surprise and actually quite tasty. Slightly one-sided and unbalanced but very rich and creamy and smooth. Malty and doughy, but overall not bad
