hopdog (4482), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2008 Tasted from Growler that was filled within an hour of the tasting (thanks egajdzis) Poured a deep and muddy golden color with a very small sized head. Aromas of lots of bananas (those dried banana chips), yeast, cloves, and some sulfur. Tastes of bananas, yeast, spices, and citrus.
Nate (2199), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2008 On tap at the Creekhouse. Very light sweet pils aroma, mild alcohol, and some grassy sweet hops. Light cherry tartness. Subdued nose. Medium golden body with thin white lacing head. Medium-light body with light carbonation. Starts sweet with pale malt, light grassy hops, neutral fruits. Mild detergent-oxidation flavor, light alcohol. Kinda watery with medium dry-bitter finish. DocLock (4075), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is funky, hoppy, with some spicy yeasty and fruity notes. The flavor is funky and hopcitris at first, giving way to some late mid-palate cobwebby esters and earthy spicy yeasty notes. Pretty smooth and rich, and very enjoyable from beginning to end. jjpm74 (2811), Connecticut, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle courtesy of hopdog. A great beer in the vein of Duvel and Mathilda. Pours caramel. Smells and tastes grassy and earthy with some sugary hints and a fair amount of spiciness. pint_size (1002), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2008 6-27-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to hopdog
Clear yellow orange. Smell is hoppy and freshly cut grass and apples and perhaps a little funk in there too. Flavor is bubbly duty funk and bread and sweet tart water (very strange combination -- I know). Highly carbonated. Dry finish. Not bad but not great. douglas88 (676), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle thanks to hopdog. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick and creamy white head. The aroma is mostly yeast and banana. The taste was very smooth and full; I love the palate of this beer, some banana, cloves, yeast, a touch of pepper and some wheat. Quite nice.
