Poured a very heady dark brown, a bit too much head initially. Aroma of roasted malt and candied sugar. Dried fruits linger on palate. Well balanced

Dark amber body, medium to thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Dark candied fruits, banana esters, caramel, brown sugar, sticky sweetness, Belgian yeast spices. Medium to full bodied, lively carbonation, a bit muddled. Not completely working for me.

750 ml at home. Deep amber pour. Lots of chunky floaties. Tight off white head. Aroma of over ripe bananas, brown sugar, dried plums in syrup, Really high carbonation. Tastes of yeast and dark fruits, clove, banana, plum. Very long finish, with jammy compote flavors, spice, malt. Dries up just a bit. Good and complex.

750 ml bottle. Served in a goblet, the beer pours a clear ruby red color with about an inch and a half light tan head that sticks around a while. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like dark fruit (plums, figs), clove, peppery spice, blackberries, caramel and brown sugar. It tastes like sweet and tart dark fruit (plums, figs, raisins, red grapes), blackberries, peppery spice, bready malt/dark bread, cloves, brown sugar and caramel. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís a little bit syrupy and has a good amount of carbonation. I think itís a good brew overall. At $7.99 a bottle (and with $1 from each bottle sold going to a local Breast Cancer charity), Iíd buy it again. Definitely worth a try.

A delicious surprise! I generally donít expect much from American brewers attempting Belgian styles. This was actually very good. Aroma was nice. Strong Belgian yeast flavors with hints of dark fruit and brown sugar. Pour was a nice deep dark hazy brown with a 2 finger tan head. Taste was delicious. Strong Belgian yeast flavors with the plum being perfect. Not overpowering and accentuating the usual dark fruit flavors inherent in the style. Sweet brown sugar and bubblegum came out as it warmed. Very complex. Nice strong and biting carbonation round this treat out.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Sparrow, 2/20/14

Aroma: The nose is fruity and yeasty, plums, some malts, and a little raisin
Appearance: It pours a pinkish-reddish color with a beige head and mild lace
Flavor: The flavor is medium sweet, plum and raisin fruity notes, spice, with lots of yeasty flavors
Palate: The body is medium, tingly feel, some plus carbonation, and a slightly tart, dry finish
Overall Impression: Pretty decent stuff. This style with the plum flavor works pretty nicely. The plum doesnít overpower, and it doesnít get overwhelmingly sweet either. Very nice beer, and Iím always happy when my beer habit supports charity.

750 ml bottle into chalice; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big plum, blackberry, prune, raisin, fig, pear, molasses, toast, brown bread, dark candi sugar, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of plum, fruity/spicy yeast, and dark malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big plum, blackberry, prune, raisin, fig, pear, dark candi sugar, molasses, toast, dark bread, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light dark fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of plum, prune, blackberry, fig, raisin, pear, molasses, dark bread, toast, dark candi sugar, herbal, clove, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and big robustness of plum, fruity/spicy yeast, and malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, moderately slick, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice dubbel style. All around good balance and complexity of plum, fruity/spicy yeast, and dark malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Pours a dark brown purple, small amount of tan head. Aroma tannic, plums, copper. Body very lively, lots of fruit with some lingering juicy notes and caramel going away. Really nice, especially as this generally isnít my thing.

reddish-brown color; dark fruit aroma; dark fruit and roasted malt flavor; notes of plums, raisins, and Belgian yeast; a little over carbonated I thought

Bottle poured into sniffer. Murky cocoa brown witha light tan fluffy head. Yeasty aroma. Brown bready taste with strong yeast flavors. No hop presence. Not picking up the plums either. Dry and almost slightly funky. Very disappointing.
