Poured a deep amber with some head a some lace. Aroma was yeasty, with the dark fruitiness of the plums coming through. Taste was dark fruits, caramel, toast, malts, and yeast. not my favorite Weyerbacher but worth the try.

Draft at Varga Bar in Philadelphia. Poured hazy chestnut brown with no head at all. Mild aroma of plums and earth, with some nutty malt too. Medium body with a light astringency to the finish. Flavors of nutty malt and earthy yeast, with lingering notes of honey and plum in the finish.

Bottled 9/12/14. Big bottle into pint. Massive fizzy head at pour, slowly dissipates. Head is off white color. Amber color beer. Aroma is mostly yeast with some dried fruits. Mouthfeel is smooth. Light to moderate carbonation. Lightly sweet taste with a slight bitter finish. Dried plum notes. Alcohol taste is well blended. Over all good belgium with an extra twist that works well.

Pours a dark murky brown with a pillowy white head. Smells and tastes of Belgian yeast, spices, a hint of plum and some dry peppery notes. Creamy mouthfeel. Quite a unique Dubbel, I liked this beer a lot.

Pours dark mahogany red with a small light brown head. Smells fruity and of caramel. Taste is dark fruit, sweet, slight toffee notes. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Weyerbacher Althea finishes with a supple fruity sweetness.

Pretty tasty. Dark red brown pour...lots of carbonaton. Light malts, big fruitiness, some nuttiness, nice amount of sweetness. Good balance. Tasty.

3/26/15. 750mL bottle from Five Points. Nice amber pour with a soft, supple, luscious head. I can’t wait to stick my face right in there. I was going to try to rate this through booby related puns, but I’m fresh out of ideas... so we’ll just go normal from here on out, I guess. Mild but nice aroma, malty, light fruitiness... just... pleasant. Hard to explain, but I like it (not making a boob joke, though I guess it fits). Nice flavor, mild, smooth, creamy, lightly nutty, fruity, a hint at a tart aspect. Tasty and creamy but there’s also a harsh carbonation in there. Otherwise I’m kinda digging this!

Pours a hazy light brown with a one finger tan head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruits (mainly plums), sweet malts, toasted dark bread, raisins, brown sugar, and some candied yeast. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel an a mostly sweet, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty and interesting dubbel.

Total Wine in Delaware: Pours murky light brown with a tan head. Aroma is sugar, fruit, yeast, and sugary malts. Taste is moderately sweet, but not too much so. Serious fruity and yeasty notes abound. Easy finish. Nice and pleasant dubbel.

Appearance: cloudy maroon with tons of floaties and a purplish, thick tan head and average lacing. Aroma: candi sugar, molasses, dark fruits, some cinnamon and clove. Taste: plums, prunes, and raisins, with candi and brown sugars, Belgian yeast, clove, with a hint of pepper. Finish: lingering slick, fruity sweetness over a bit of peppery yeast. Notes: An interesting concept. Just not what I was expecting, whatever that may have been. Bottle from Sarah for Beersmas 2014.
