Pint on tap at Catskeller... Just $4 a pint! Hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves very nice thicker sheets and ridges of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of creamy, more full body. Smooth, lightly crisp, lighter carbonation. Very easy drinking. Lightly slick finish. Awesome malt profile... Rye malts come through nicely, good toasty malt. Light spice to this, and some nice citrus hops... Very tasty stuff! Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, lightly spicy. Very impressive saison! Much better than expected. Nice, light amount of funk to it, too. Not sure what’s up with the low rates. This was super-solid, and complex. Very interesting, easy drinking saison. Went through my pint pretty quickly.

Draft at Kloby’s. Pours very cloudy dark copper with a creamy white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like spices, lemon, wheat, but also nicely sweet. Medium body and low carbonation. Dry feel. Smells like resin, leathery, light lemon and spice.

Draft at Craft. Orange hazy pour with off-white head. Nose was hopcitrus, mild yeast, rye. Tastes hoppy, tart, with mild funk and pale malt flavor, medium palate heft and complexity.

Growler from Joe Canal. Pours orange with a long lasting, foamy white head. Aroma is of orange marmalade, citrusy hops and caramel. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of orange, citrusy hops, spices, caramel and bready malt, spices. Finish is long, hoppy and spicy. Taste is more like IPA than Saison.

From growler. Thin white head of fine bubbles. Light smoked malts in the aroma with some tobacco and herbal aromas. Not exactly what you would expect in a saison. Color is a dark gold. Dry and pasty mouthfeel with some cardboard, chalky malts, and some rather astringent bitterness. Not a great combination of flavors. As I get further into the brew I do start to detect some spices and yeast overtones but not enough to make up for the weirdness. Not a brew I would recommend. Tasted much better out of the tap when I sampled it at the store.

smells a little like the b/o of your mate after doing it. thats a good thing. slightly hazy. yellow tinted a tad brown. creamy head. goes thin. mild at first but then it builds. as session goes on this saison gets more bitter, hops poking thru. you think it wants to be an ips.

On tap at the Warwick hotel. Lightly cloudy yellow-gold. Aroma is phenolic, light floral orange rind. hint of baking bread and berry. Body is light with prickly, medium-heavy carbonation. Flavor is phenolic citrus leading into a spicy hop bitterness that is a bit much for the style. I wish the American hops were underplayed here, or maybe a very specific single-origin variety was used (Mozaic, the hipster hop, goes well with saison yeast)...

Pours a cloudy orange. Not much head. Smells like farmhouse horse blankets. Slightly bitter taste. Strange harsh aftertaste.

Sample from Barry at Barcade, gold appearance, lots of crisp belgian notes, hops, citrus, and yeast. Well carbonated medium body beer. Average at best.

Draft at Proof. Clear golden pour with a small white head. Weirdly boozy yeast nose that kind of stings and notes of cleaning solution. Awkward flavors all over the place and off flavored yeast. I don't even know about this thing.
