4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2003 This beer rocks. Weyerbacher Brewing Co. is the best thing that ever happened to Easton... with the possible exception of Sheena.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle at Victor’s bracket box tasting at Paul’s. Pours a ruby tinged brown with a thin white head. Big old oxidized fruit, old malt, prunes and plums. Super oxidized, almost sour. Old and oxidized. Ugh.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft notes from spring cleaning. Poured hazy brown with off-white head. Nose was earthy, malty, mild oak, yeasty candi sugar. This was one of the earliest beers to use oak chips, and the flavor was oaky, dark fruity, dark malty, and fairly complex for a beer in the late 1990s. I wish they’d pop this recipe out of mothballs.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pours a cloudy brown with a thin tan head. Smells of sugar, processed fruit and wet dog. Tastes of cardboard and sickly sweet. A diabetic’s nightmare.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a murky purple brown color with a small, light tan head, light lacing on the glass. Aroma of leaher, sherry, sour cherries, a bit of cardboard, and some nuts as well. Taste of light vanilla, old fruit for sure, cherries, lacto bacteria, with a lengthy sour finish. Certainly seems to have become lambicish, and it wasn’t horrible... Huge thanks to jimmack for sharing this last night, I never thought i’d get to try this!

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours a hazy amber, yeasty and muddy, with a fizzy head. Aroma is welches grape soda (thanks to RLB for that description), fruity esters, soy, oxidation, sour notes, cardboardy and metallic. More metal in the flavor, phenolic, old fruit, sour- acetic and lactic giving a wierd vinegar hint and a harsh astringent metallic finish. THis was a fun beer to share at a tasting. Thanks Jason!
